The train funnel was producing green smoke, causing the DeLorean's speed to increase. Not much later, the green smoke disappeared and was replaced by yellow. Hearing a disturbance at the back, Marty poked his head out of the car window to see Clara riding towards the train. He had a bad feeling about this...

Clara's horse, being particularly stupid, slammed right into the train. The impact caused the DeLorean to overturn, and there was a crash as Mr. Fusion broke under the weight.

The smoke was in the red...

Suddenly disoriented with his head still out the window of the upside down car, Marty somehow managed to accidentally kick the flux capacitor which shattered to a million pieces upon impact.

They had passed the point of no return. Clara had got on board, but her horse was history.

The train funnel was giving out purple smoke with lil' smiley faces in it.

88 mph and still nothing happened. The car, train and their three passengers reached the edge of the cliff, careened right over and were done for.

Not knowing which of the three to name it after, the inhabitants of Hill Valley named the spot 'Choo Choo Ravine' after the memory of the train which had met its demise there.
