"I'm not wearing that," John said.

":(," thought the flannel shirt.

"Come on, John!" Chas pleaded. "You need some variety in your wardrobe... just once. Okay? Just once. Put in on, see how you feel about it-"

"I know how I feel about it," John said, turning away to take out a cigarette. "I'm not wearing it." He flicked on his lighter.

"...and that's what happened," the flannel shirt finished, and waited for sympathy from its fellow neglected clothing in John Constantine's closet.
