Kids make the grade studying 'Speed' star Keanu Reeves
Here's proof that education ain't what it used to be: College students are getting credit for a 12-week class about the star of the new hit flick "Speed."
Keanu Reeves was chosen this semester as the hot subject at the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena.
That means students are viewing, discussing and writing academic papers about Keanu's films, such as "Point Break," "I Love You to Death," "Bram Stoker's Dracula" and "Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure."
"I think he is quite good," declared Stephen Prina, who teaches the course. But even Prina admits that lots of people believe the class is bogus.
"Colleagues think it's a joke," he said. "Film students have said they are ashamed to go to a school that offers this class."
