Manager nixes TV taping of Keanu Reeves' Hamlet
The manager for Keanu Reeves has refused to allow the actor's stage performance of Hamlet to be taped for television.
Reeves, star of last summer's hit movie Speed, performs the Shakespearean role at the Manitoba Theatre Centre from tonight until Feb. 4.
But his personal manager Erwin Stoff has disallowed videotaping of the show out of concern it could end up in the hands of tabloid TV shows like Hard Copy and A Current Affair.
"A Current Affair has been hounding Keanu's people and us, just desperate to get anything", said Blair Cosgrove, the theatre's associate director of marketing and communications.
