Problems Mounting On the Set Of 'Matrix?'
More trouble on the set of the Keanu Reeves sci-fi flick The Matrix is being reported by local journalists. One such paper (the Sydney Morning Herald) reported last week that Reeves has become "grumpy" on the set due to a lack of sleep from 3:30AM to 7:30PM. "It's not all fun and games," an unnamed source told the Herald. A separate editorial asked Reeves and his Matrix compadres to get their work over with, stop the traffic jams that have plagued downtown Sydney and get the hell out of Australia. With press like that, no wonder he's grumpy.
The Cinescape Insider's sources within The Matrix production, however, have described Reeves' behavior on the set by using words such as "selfish" and "disagreeable," despite the reported $25 million payday he'll receive for his work on the futuristic thriller. The spending excess doesn't stop at the star's salary either, according to insiders who say the Wachowski brothers "seem more intent on wasting studio money and joking with Keanu between takes than they are in doing the film."
Additionally, our sources offer a harsh early opinion about the Warner Bros. picture, saying "the cost of this film is out of this world -- $120 million -- and believe me, it's not going to be a very good film at all. It has all the ingredients [of] Johnny Mnemonic."
