OscarWatch - Keanu Reeves

While Michelle Pfeiffer tries hard to overcome looks and be taken seriously, so does the uber-gorgeous Keanu Reeves, who really is one of the hardest working guys in showbiz.

Strangely enough, Keanu's performance in "The Gift" has sparked, more than any other, Oscar buzz.

Of course, it will remain to seen whether this is true or a media plant.

It probably isn't wise to underestimate the talent of Reeves, as he sheds his valley dude accent and stretches beyond playing the adorable hero.

Meanwhile, the publicity machines are in full swing for some upcoming films. Entertainment Tonight did a story on "The Gift," showing some clips of the buzzed-out Keanu Reeves who plays a murderous psycho. He is getting lots of early Oscar buzz which is surprising, but hey, more power to the dude! Matter of fact, "The Gift," which stars Cate Blanchett and was co-written by Billy Bob Thornton, looks to be a captivating film all the way around.
