Keanu's Hot as DC Comic's 'Hellblazer'

HOLLYWOOD ( -- He won't even have cooled off from the "Matrix" double-hit in the theaters this year before Keanu Reeves is coming back as D.C. Comic's John Constantine: Hellblazer, and producers say he's hot in that role.

Already working on the part, Reeves hasn't even earned the accolades producers are expecting for his upcoming "Matrix Reloaded" and "Matrix Revolutions" films coming out within half a year of each other this summer and fall. Producer Lauren Shuler Donner says he's the perfect actor for the adult-oriented comic book series about the man who sends demons to Hell.

"He's hot in the role, he's perfect for Hellblazer because he has that innocent quality about him, a bit naive, but someone you like," Donner says to "He's a bit like Tarzan, or a hero like that. But this time, he sends demons to hell."

The film will be called "Constantine," in part to keep audiences from being confused with the horror film "Hellraiser," and is scheduled for summer 2004. It will be directed by first-timer Francis Lawrence.

Can Reeves continue his trend as an action star?

"Keanu is formidable, he can take on the demons!" Donner insists.
