Keanu Reeves Could Be Wanted for Potential 'Speed 3'
Recent buzz has claimed that a third 'Speed' movie could be on the way and the 20th Century Fox eye to bring the film's original star Keanu Reeves for the new project.
Rumor has it, another "Speed" movie is being planned. Making the possibility even more intriguing, AICN reported that this time, the 20th Century Fox want Keanu Reeves to go back on board the action thriller installment for "Speed 3".
Hinting that the new "Speed" film may see the return of Reeves' character Jack Traven, AICN wrote down its scooper's message on the matter. "There's a scriptment floating around that reintroduces Jack Traven," read the message. "So the studios are hoping to get Keanu back on board."
Back in 2007, Dennis Hopper, the actor who plays villain Howard Payne in the original "Speed" allegedly hinted to The Guardian that there are plans to do third "Speed" film. "He certainly isn't in the mood to discuss any of the half a dozen films he is due to appear in this year, a roster which is due to include a performance in Speed 3, even though I have plenty of questions about that," parts of the Guardian article read.
The original "Speed" was released in 1994. Starring Keanu Reeves and Sandra Bullock, the action movie focuses on police officer Jack Traven's attempt to arrest an insane extortionist which leads to a race against time to save a group of people on a bus planted with bomb. The success of this movie spawned a sequel, which Reeves didn't take part of, "Speed 2: Cruise Control".
