Keanu Doesn't Care About Speed, But Wants More Bill & Ted
by Josh Tyler
Keanu Reeves has responded to those Speed 3 rumors from earlier in the week. His answer? He’s not interested.
Talking to IGN Neo says, “I don't know if they are going to make another one, and if they are it won't be with me... honestly!” Though IGN seems to believe otherwise, this does not in fact debunk those Speed 3 rumors. No one said Keanu was doing it or that he even wanted to do it. That was never a part of the rumor. Actually if you read our story we made it pretty clear that the odds of him being involved were fairly slim, since director Jan de Bont had already made it known that he was out. Instead word was simply that the studio wanted him to do it, and had every intention of pursuing him for a return to the Speed franchise.
The fact that he hasn’t heard anything about it yet doesn’t really disprove anything. It does however, sound like Fox will have a tough time convincing him to return. Apparently what he’d really like to be doing is a third Bill & Ted movie. No really! Talking of a possible third time traveling installment he says, “Maybe we could do it with them both grown up -- they haven't saved the world and they're just living their lives as middle-aged men. That sounds quite funny.”
If he’s really interested in doing it, now might be the time for Keanu to call up his agent since there have been remake rumors recently. Stop the remake and give Keanu a sequel! That would be most excellent. Who needs another bogus Speed sequel anyway? Party on Ted.
