Bill & Ted 3 could happen 'now or in a couple of years' says Alex Winter
by Danny Walker
Alex Winter and Keanu Reeves will forever be linked with the Bill & Ted films, the last being Bill & Ted's Bogus Journey, which came out in 1991.
A follow-up is often talked about and Winter, who went on to direct Freaked, Fever, The Gate and Downloaded, the documentary about the impact of file sharing, will consider both directing and acting in the third instalment of Bill & Ted.
In an interview with Empire he suggests the joint role could be on the cards.
“If we can get that damn Bill & Ted movie off the ground, I will definitely do that.
"We have a script and I believe we will get it made. But we're in that zone of putting it together, which maybe Dumb And Dumber To was in for a while.”
Winter continued: "It's just the four of us: it's not like there's a big, cigar-chomping money guy interfering. There are people with money who are interested, but the ball is in our court as to how we want to organise it financially."
In terms of everyone wanting answers, the 48-year-old stayed very calm.
"I hate to say this because it might tick off the fans, but it doesn't really matter if the movie happens now or in a couple of years, given what it's about and how it plays with what's happened to us".
