Sounds Like Life is Imitating Art on Bill and Ted 3

by Chris Tilly

Writers taking time with "actualisation" of concept.

We’re still no closer to Bill and Ted 3 happening, with the script failing to materialise, a bit like the song that the story apparently revolves around.

When I asked Keanu Reeves about the long-gestating sequel back in October 2014, he said “we’re closer, but we’re not closer.” Then I pushed him on the subject in April 2015, and his update was "We're closer, we're closer."

However, when I spoke to him again a couple of weeks ago, he reverted to that original response, saying “That’s still true – we’re closer and we’re not closer. We’re expecting another draft and hopefully we’ll get closer.”

Reeves revealed that he’s still enthusiastic about the concept – which concerns Bill and Ted struggling to write the song that brings peace and harmony to the world – but added that they are now taking their time with “the actualisation of that concept.”

Which sounds a lot like life imitating art.

“We’re just trying to get the script together” he added. “We’re trying to get the story right. We’re working with this studio so we have a little bit of support, in a sense of like if the material comes through we’ll try and make this picture. We’re really just still trying to get the story right.

So there you have it – Bill and Ted 3 – closer, but not closer.

hmmm, someone needs to WRITE THE SONG! (2016-03-21 04:39:38)
just saying...and save the world...because (in case Bill and Ted haven't noticed) we need saving.

well, if we would be excellent to each other we were already saved.
Stories about saving the world - funny as Bill&Ted or more philosophical like The Matrix - make their audience think. But usually just a few moments. However, there a so many people that do extra efforts and the majority of just normal people taking care of their own issues without harming others - so all in all I think we have reason to be optimistic :-)
