Whoa! Keanu Reeves has a daily 'treasure hunt,' says 'Bill & Ted 3' co-star Samara Weaving

It's undoubtedly been the Summer of Keanu, but the fun doesn't seem to be stopping anytime soon.
Filming is underway on "Bill & Ted Face the Music," the long-awaited third movie featuring the fun-loving, air-guitaring dudes played by Keanu Reeves and Alex Winter, and co-star Samara Weaving reports that Reeves is a "lovely" guy who has an adorable way of keeping himself entertained.
The actor brought an action figure of his "Toy Story 4" character Duke Caboom to set, and "the makeup artists hide the figurine every morning. He loves having a little treasure hunt. Every day he's looking for Caboom," Weaving tells USA TODAY.
More than three decades since their original "Excellent Adventure" in 1989, the new "Bill & Ted" (in theaters Aug. 21, 2020) brings the SoCal time-traveling duo of Winter's Bill S. Preston Esq. and Reeves' Ted "Theodore" Logan back as middle-age best friends. The goodhearted dudes are still trying to write the greatest song ever, and now that tune is more important than ever with the harmony of the universe and life as we know it at stake.
Along for the ride this time, in addition to historical figures and musical legends, are their kids, Thea Preston (Weaving) and Billie Logan (Brigette Lundy-Paine). "The apple doesn't fall far from the tree with their daughters. Billie and Thea are joined at the hip and love music," Weaving says. And that's pretty much all the Australian actress can disclose: "I don't want to get a call like, 'Sam, what have you been talking about?' "
Weaving, who stars in the upcoming horror comedy "Ready or Not" (out Aug. 21), wasn't aware of the "Bill & Ted" universe before she got the audition for the new film. "I guess I was in a little bubble of my own," says the 27-year-old actress. Her fiancé Jimmy Warden, however, was a big fan. He "jumped up and started doing their impression. I was like, 'What's wrong with your voice?' He started leaping around saying, 'Dude, you have to do it! Excellent!' "
So he's more excited about the new "Bill & Ted" than Weaving? "Oh yeah, 100%."
