So, Our Man has starred with several dogs during his acting career, and he's even been one (Ortiz the Dog Boy) himself. I'd therefore like to challenge him to trying to act opposite of sighthounds. Jjacks the mutt in The Lake House seemed like she might be an Ibizan Hound mix, and yet she and Keanu/Sandra appeared to get along well. So here's your challenge, Keanu:

Try to do anything, in any movie, with any dog trainer, that involves any purebred sighthound. I'll be more than happy to lend you my own three North-African hunting sighthounds, with 2000+ years of ancestry of doing whatever they damned well please (and then they occupy your sofa to sleep off their exhaustion after chasing and offing all your cats).

Uh, I seem to recall that there were some good reviews, too. I specifically remember one critic praising his performance, saying he was one of the best Hamlets ever - "because he *is* Hamlet" -- if I remember correctly.

Whether or not Keanu ends up in it, I think that making an American version of Akira and using non Asian actors in it is the very definition of Bad Idea.

I can sort of understand that they won't cast unknown teen actors in such a huge production, whether they be Asian or not. But if they do end up using non Asians they ought to be able to find someone in their early 20s.

However, I fear that an Americanised Akira will be so far removed from the original story that calling it "Akira" would be a travesty.
