"Why are we here?" Will asked, opening his arms before the infinity pool.

"reeves had a barbecue," Connie said.

Will gave a small laugh that made Connie want to stab his eyes out. "No, John," he said with a gentle smile. "It's because we're alive."

"..." Connie said.

A sigh. "I'm not going to treat you if you aren't interested in living."

Connie pointedly took out another cigarette and lit it.

Julian walked by and patted Will on the shoulder. "Good luck."
