Making use of the news forum...

Decided to go with Freehostia; its benefits outweigh the cons.

Cons:
1) Forbidden word list (back to rooting out the words with possible pornographic connotations, though nice person at Support said they'd tell me which words were responsible when a page got banned.)

2) Max file size of 500KB. Currently there are 5 scripts that go past this; I'll have to host them elsewhere and put in a redirect link. Bit of trouble but oh well.

Site will probably be down over the next day or two, whereupon it will come back in bits. I don't really know what's going on this time because I can still access my DirectAdmin account, which I have a strange feeling is operating independent of my webhost. No idea if I'll have to reupload stuff; hope I won't have to and it'll just be the porn thing to worry about.

In the meantime if the site still works, new articles up at www.whoaisnotme.net/articles/recentadd.htm, mostly the CK stuff.

well, that link doesn't work, but guess we'll survive

as for the banned words... well, we'll have to be creative

the problem will be with the archive, though...

Okay, I think the shift is complete.

Turns out that this forbidden words list is more lenient - they don't block more common words like 'porn'. So far the only blocked word I found is 'pedophile' and its variants. Might be others lurking about...

Unfortunately I don't know of a simple way to find out which pages were blocked. Just sent an e-mail to the webhost support people to ask. Until then, if you come across a page on the site that's blank except for a single number, it means it's blocked - just give me the number and I'll fix it.

(don't bother going through every page. It will kill my bandwidth.)
