 Forum Posts: 328 Comments: 0 Reviews: 0 | Did anyone watch the Beijing Olympics? I watched some events (gymnastics, swimming, running, sychronized diving, men's volleyball (indoor and beach). I really liked the Opening Ceremony. The Closing Ceremony was good too. And by saying I liked the Olympics I'm not saying I agree with their human rights record or their pollution issues or their government, I just think for a country that has been so closed off, they did a good job of inviting the world in (to an extent). They spent like $40 *billion* dollars on the Olympics!!  I just thought I'd throw that out there before someone said something.  | ||

We lost the gold to China (two of the players were #1 and #2 in the world respectively) and got a silver instead, but it's our first medal in 48 years so people were still happy.  | ||
