Forum Posts: 35 Comments: 0 Reviews: 0 | I'll start. This is a photo I took two or three years ago when I was vacationing at our cabin in the mountains. We had gone on a long hike - were gone for eleven hours in all - and on our way back we saw some reindeer. You often see them in that area but rarely this close as they are wild and very wary of humans. We saw a female first, she was running like crazy ... I guess because she'd scented us and wanted to get away asap. Then a calf came along, it seemed frightened and was obviously looking for its mother. It cried for her and she cried back to it. I guess to guide it to where it was going. Then when they were both gone and had been out of sight for a while, a male suddenly popped up. No idea why he didn't just totally avoid us, since he must have known we were there. But maybe he wanted to check us out, to see what had gotten those other flock members so worked up. :-)Because of the light and because the screen is so relatively small on my camera, I couldn't see if the pictures I were taking were any good or not. I just took a bunch of them and hoped some at least would turn out well. And one of them came out fantastically well. I was so happy when I got back home and saw it on my computer screen. Everything was just exactly right when I took this photo. My masterpiece:  | ||
