| Forum Posts: 4842 Comments: 381 Reviews: 13 | I can try, sort of, but the thing with this movie is, everyone will perceive it differently, due to their own cultural background, personality, mood, so many factors... Also, it tells a story through images, not dialogue... except for The Dream and The Screamer, the rest of the characters barely say a few words...
I think it's a story about choices and about defining oneself. About Arlen choosing between the fake, drug induced comfort of Comfort City and the raw, eat-or-be-eaten life in the desert... About we're all bad, but there are different degrees - or kinds - of bad... About survival but also of the mind, not just of the body... Personally, I liked how it told the story, but didn't necessarily like the story itself. It really helps having watched Amirpour's first movie. | ||
