I think this is an article based on the press conference at the Berlin festival. I do remember the bits about the 'sugar'... not the ones about critics, though... so maybe those were from a different conference ?

I think they did - my friend had to search in quite a few places until she found a 'just delivered' batch of magazines at a corner newspapers store... In all the other places the March issue was 'sold out'...

... must confess that I pestered one of my friends - who happened to be in Paris at the middle of March - to get the magazine for me. had to put up with merciless teasing, but couldn't care less. :))

not sure about USA release date, but for UK it's listed 26 June - on IMDB , at least...
depends on the distributing companies, I guess.

for its time and its genre, I say the movie is really good.
