KeanuWeb - Merlin's address

2009-03-24 09:22:38

(Anakin McFly @ Mar 24 2009, 08:09 AM)
"Hi Merlin! Uh, do you have any articles that you're willing to give me for free?"

Wasn't he thinking of selling his website?

I wonder what happened to that?

And I don't want to know how you found out that info. Anakin.

This is sort of beyond me, but I bet if you had the time and inclination you could come up with something cool.
If Ani had the time, above all, because I think she has already lots of inclination!!

Oh yeah, I think Anakin would do an awesome job if she wanted to. I just know how BUSY she is with school work and all her online activities/writings etc....

From CK.... Nice that Keanu visited Japan twice, to sort of plead his case.

Thanks Magic; can't take credit for the collage though, somebody else put it together (http://www.bloggang.com/viewdiary.php?id=k...roup=2&gblog=18 I think this is a Thai blog? WINM is linked there, tooá )

I have noticed the blonde theme in the past; do you think that has anything to do with the fact that his mother has the exact same haircolour?á Not to get too oedipal, but I've noticed people tend to recreate the same patterns in life that they have seen acted out in their childhood. My brother eg married a woman, sweet as she is, who has the same personality as our mother (domineering). And with Keanu's mother having been married so many times, no wonder he has some relationship issues.

Well, good find then FR! And nice job whoever put it together!

You know, that's an interesting question. And we could get kind of cheeky about whether they're "real" blondes or not. Hee Hee

Actually, the women he does seem to date or at least hang out with, they all pretty much seem creative in some way. And his mom was a costumer and seemed to instill in her kids a love of culture (travel and art and music). So, my guess is that the one Keanu is looking for would at least be creative in some way and appreciate the arts. If I may psychoanalyze a bit.

From what I've read of Keanu's mother, she seems to have been kind of a distant parent. (I'm going by Kim Reeves quote about how her and Keanu never had anyone to watch them play hockey (Keanu) or her show her horses and how they sort of brought themselves up.) I think that's one reason why they're so close.

As for the multiple marriages and all the moving, I could see how Keanu could have some issues. Though, I think his dad's abandonment plays a pretty big role too (don't get too close to people they could leave (hurt) you). Again, if I could just armchair speculate. dry.gif

I would hope that his mom being so close to Keanu in his later years would help heal some of those early childhood wounds. Not sure if they have, but it would be nice if they did. She would often go to Dogstar shows and his movie premieres and to his Walk Of Fame event. (I don't recall if she was at the Street Kings premiere or The Day The Earth Stood Still? Maybe Street Kings was too violent for her? If I recall the movie premieres his mom went to were: Sweet November, The Lake House, and I think there were a few more. Maybe she just like the romances best?)

I hope he finds someone awesome soon. He sounds like he's ready for his second stage of life (from the Vogue interview).

edit: Actually, thinking back on it, he does seem to like women with accents. His mom is English.

(Anakin McFly @ Mar 22 2009, 09:57 PM)

I love that idea. I second Anakin archiving the world!á

I was actually thinking of starting with celebrities because - politicians aside, and even then maybe not - I think they get among the most media coverage with lots of free labour (read: fans) willing to help. Plus they give lots of insights on human behaviour and the state of things.

So there could be some overarching site that links to various archives like the WINM one...

Whatever it is, if I ever archive the world, I definitely won't be able to do all the work.

That could be kind of fun in a way. (archiving things) But I see what you mean about how you couldn't do it alone. dry.gif

Actually, there's a great app for the new iphone (you get apps through itunes-either free or you pay for them) and one of them downloads classic books. I thought that was a great idea. (books like The Adventures Of Huckleberry Finn and 20.000 Leagues Under The Sea). I guess it still has some kinks to work out, but I like the idea of it. Kind of like Kindle.

http://macapper.com/2008/12/22/rdy-classic...in-your-pocket/

There's also book bites. Which I guess is sort of the cliff notes version of books?

http://www.stalefishlabs.com/content/book-...ssic-literature

You're a smart one Anakin, I bet you could come up with a killer app. This is sort of beyond me, but I bet if you had the time and inclination you could come up with something cool.

I'm just throwing it out there!

oh shucks, now I feel guilty !  and haven't even got the darn magazine yet, my friend is supposed to arrive back in the country on Monday...

hope, Everything, hope !  I thought it was sold out too... 'till I got the good news.

yeah, I'm the one who read almost all Ellroy novels available...
one piece of advice, though - don't stop at Dahlia. if possible, read all four "LA novels".  they offer quite an image of post WWII LA... cops and robbers and their connections with the show-biz world and all that...
although it's fiction, it's pretty well documented... Ellroy is a research fanatic.

Don't feel guilty Luca. I'm actually really happy you are able to get a copy. If they're hard to get, they'll be collector's items!

Thanks for the Ellroy advice. I thought it was you who had read Ellroy!

will you ever seriously consider archiving the world ?á we humans certainly could use that... and you'd be doing Klaatu a favor
I love that idea. I second Anakin archiving the world!

Luca, I'm jealous!

sorry... it was just a lucky coincidence...á
Well, I'm doubly jealous now Luca because my local Barnes & Noble didn't have it! There was a gap in the magazine section (in the mens section, where it would most likely be. Along with GQ), so it got my imagination going, either it sold out SUPER quickly OR they're going to put it out on Tuesday. I say Tuesday, because that's when a lot of new books and CD's and DVD's are released. (I'll check back Tuesday. Fingers crossed)

On the flip side, Luca were you the one who got into James Ellroy? I picked up the Black Dahlia for $4.00, so I was pretty stoked about that. I've had James Ellroy on my MUST READ list for some time now and kept meaning to get to it.

Wow! Great collage FR. (do I have to dye my hair blonde? That seems to be the theme in those pictures)

I'm sure she'd say those are just "friends."

Up on WINM now: www.whoaisnotme.net/articles/2009_03xx_irr.htm

Possibly the best part in that interview:

Chef starts filming this year.

That is good news Anakin! (I hope it's true!!!!)

Luca, I'm jealous! But and this is a big BUT, I thought it didn't officially come out in the states until today, March 21st. So, maybe try again?? I'm going to go look for a copy at Barnes & Noble later today. I'll tell you guys if I have any luck!
Is told his lines before each take? :\

(Anakin McFly @ Mar 20 2009, 03:13 PM)
That's what some fish claims...

"he also admitted once to being told his lines before each take rather than memorizing oftentimes, in a hardball blurb from a junket i caught flippin channels, hehe."

Anyone seen that junket?

And from a fish in the Nile: "See THE GIFT. He scared all hell out of me there. He ain't no Tony Hopkins, but he can get down with the right director. Ok, so he sorta sucks, but he's in it [Constantine], so we might as well be optimistic."

Told his lines!???

That's the first I've heard of it. (And no I didn't see the hardball junket)

Your dad sounds cool. I love random film quotes used in conversation.á

He's been doing that all my life; in some cases I only later found out that they came from movies - Back to the Future's "Hello? Anybody home? *knocks person on head*"; Speed's "What do you do? WHAT DO YOU DO?" and possibly others. I used to think they were his original sayings or something, and then I saw the films...

Great story Anakin.

That's so funny. I bet you were like, wait, where have I heard that before? (when you were watching the movies with those quotes)
