I'm waiting for Keanu to pick a role where he gets to play eeeeeeevil. I loved to hate him as Donnie Barksdale, and I want more of that creepiness. He's proven that he can do it, so he should get plenty of good offers if he just goes shopping for one.

Keanu thought his two years were running out
2010-09-04 00:00:00
For Keanu's birthday, Roger Ebert posted a link to this article from 1996, with a new headline: "Keanu thought his two years were running out". I'm surprised that he didn't add any commentary to it. Would have been interesting to read a summary on Keanu's career since then.

PopWatch Rewind Week 2: 'Point Break'

I keep snickering at how these guys go on about "homoeroticism" in PB. It's as if it never occurred to them that the "eroticism" (as they see it) may have been targeted at ... wait for it ... FEMALES! I mean yes, wow, imagine that: the notion that there's such a thing as a female movie audience that willingly goes to see action flicks. Katheryn B understood it, that's pretty obvious. Guys, on the other hand, are so alien to the idea that they'd rather see it as bait to reel in a male, gay crowd. Having any sort of tension between two good-looking male actors just has to be "sexual" in nature, one way or the other. Personally, I see it as "sexual" only in that there are two guys who play a very action-packed game of cat and mouse, with all the adrenalin and frustration and excitement that comes with it. The fact that the two guys are nice to look at makes it all the much better for us, the viewers, but it makes no nevermind to the two protagonists. If anything, PB is an early, action-genre example of a "bromance".

"By the way, do you realize that a single human being was in Point Break, Speed, and The Matrix? That combined amount of kick-ass is like Bruce Lee wrestling a bear down a waterfall."

We know, we know! :-D

I never read this article before. Wow, I thought I'd read just about everything. Well worth reading, and I agree that t.t. he does w.h.h. is something you can't explain or describe. You just have to see it, I guess. Another reason to watch his movies over again. :-)
WHERE THEY STAND: Keanu Reeves

"Reeves trying to play the bad guy in Sam Raimi’s misstep The Gift" ----------

"TRYING"?? OMG! If that was Keanu "trying" to play something, then he (or any other actor) would never succeed at anything they tried.

Yes, I think we have ourselves a spineless jellyfish here.

Has there been any confirmation that Keanu's definitely not doing this project? I'd love to see him as a complete bastard again. I always dug him as Donnie Barksdale. More villainry, Ke!
