Aw, hell. I was hoping I'd be dead before this happened. It's not even been a generation since the first one. And part of the whole point, I think, is that what was futuristic then is not at all so now. I find the thought of making it all catch up with modern times more than a little disheartening.

It's not just about that; Mendelson was the only one who gave a fair appraisal to 47 Ronin, at the time of its release , not years after. He pointed out its flaws, but also the fact that it made $ 30 million at the US box office on Reeves' name alone; the others were unknown to the US public. Also, his predictions are always pretty accurate, be it about Reeves' movies or others. Unlike Variety or Deadline's reviewers who let their biases show, Mendelson is reliable.
