I have one question: why do you care what people say about Keanu? I understand the criticism of a person you admire is upsetting. Try not to take his detractors' comments too seriously. He's not the first actor to get flak and he won't be the last. You will never convince them he's a good actor. Whatever you say they will never change their minds about him. Whatever they say about his acting is just an opinion, not fact. If they don't like his acting they should steer clear of his movies. I will say the same thing for any actor no matter how good they are. Don't get me wrong. I'm not one of the many people that have jumped on the he-can't-act bashing bandwagon. He's not the best actor but I agree he's a capable one and he's average at best. He has given some good performances, especially in the Gift, A Scanner Darkly, Little Buddah, The Matrix, Constantine and Street Kings. He also has comedic talent. He won me over in Parenthood. I have respect for him and give him the credit for being professional and dedicated to his craft. I've also seen far worse actors ( Steven Seagal and Jean-Claude Van Damme) and duller, more wooden, actors ( Kevin Costner, Daniel Craig ) than Keanu. It's true that they don't get half the flak he has received from his detractors.
