Here's a long article with info about the Woodstock Film Festival. I wish I could be there, both to see the movie and for the Q&A afterwards. Sigh!

Here's a *must read* article I found via Club Keanu. It's about how to make your indie movie stand out and get attention at a festival.

Film Festival Dos and Don’ts

by Paul Osborne

http://www.moviemaker.com/articles/print/film_festival_dos_and_donts_official_rejection_20091020/

Reading this, I got the chilling feeling that HC's lacking trailer and anything to do with using the internet as a marketing tool will work to the movie's disadvantage. An electronic press kit (EPK), as mentioned in the article, seems to me as an absolute must in this day and age.

Interestingly, I just googled "Company Films", Keanu's production company, and found http://www.companyfilms.net - which is NOT his company. His is, as far as K know, this one: http://www.companyfilms.com. Two different companies with the same name, in LA? Also, they have the most ridiculous animated logo (complete with annoying sound) on the whole Internet. And that's it. The logo and the company's phone/fax number and e-mail addie. NOTHING else. WTF?

OK, I do realize that Keanu's no denizen of the Internet. But surely someone in CF should begin to think about actually using the website for something. And it's downright scary that they don't come up when you google them.

*Le sigh!*

Somebody on Club Keanu commented that it seems to her like HC's people have already abandoned HC and gone on to other projects. She wondered if they're all expecting Keanu's A-list status to carry the movie, and I must admit I'm asking myself the same question. Of course, we don't know how much work is going on behind the scenes, but the lack of a trailer makes me worried. I mean, even a tiny gem of a movie like Rare Exports (http://www.rareexportsmovie.com/en) has a website with trailer, teaser, production video diary, and its own Facebook page and YouTube clips.

*Le sigh, part II!*

Oh Keanu! Please, PLEASE, learn to love the Internet. It doesn't hurt, I promise. It might actually do you some good.

There was a private viewing of Henry's Crime only a few hours ago, and here's the first press on the wake of it:

Keanu just did a 20 minutes exclusive interview with http://www.collider.com. Still no info on when it'll be put on the site, but expecting it to happen shortly.

Edit: More from TIFF, with photo of Our Man In Black: http://thestar.blogs.com/stargazing/2010/09/keanu-reeves-looks-well-kinda-hot-at-tiff.html

I'm staking out Twitter for any news. There's a Toronto-based Tweeter who'll be a the premiere, so looking forward to her reports. Hoping that someone on Twitter gets to go to the afterparty, too. I know of one person who'll be there, but unfortunately not a fan. I'll keep my eyes peeled anyway.

That website... -__-;;;;; how can they make those many mistakes in just ONE page: the flash that's actually a 1995's .gif look-alike, an annoying little sound you can't turn off, a link with no distinctive characteristics, a table-based layout... The all think would be much better with the logo standing still and mute. :|

Honestly, if that's all they have to tell the world, I'd rather have asked them to please delete the whole damn page. As a denizen of the Net I get angry at unprofessionalism like this.

Also, how can there possibly be TWO Company Films? And even in the same city??

As for the two Company things, somebody is failing at brand registration.

So you would trust him to hold one of your bottles?
