A less-scruffy Reeves turns heads on return to Buffalo
2009-11-22 19:46:40
Oh, the horror! An entire ecosystem wiped out in a single shave. How awful. How inhumane! Let's hope that the fateful shave took place at a barbershop where the critters could migrate to other men's newly trimmed beards. It would, of course, be like moving from a wild forest to a well manicured park, but still. It would be a place to live. Or maybe they are all hiding in deep hibernation somewhere in Keanu's bathroom, waiting for the day when he'll once again provide them with a happy home.

Edit: Actually, I guess that some of the more homesick among the critters may already be braving the open savannah of Keanu's once-again-stubbly chin. Also, it's quite possible that the rest of the population is hiding in his hair. But he might very well cut it for Henry's Crime. Oh ye Gods!

Maybe, using a clever combination of telepathy and telekinesis, we can send them a smoke signalled message (shouldn't be too difficult as they live on a smoker) to warn them that the lower regions of his hair mightn't be the safest place to be in the near future. Move up in the world, little ones! Up! UP!

What is it with all this criticism of Keanu's beard these days? This unshrouded prejudice against his awsome chin-fur, in all its scruffy gloriousness, is completely uncalled for. Grizzly Adams, my donkey (read: a**)! [indignant sniff]

Well, heaven knows how much of the film will actually be shot in Buffalo. Maybe they'll mostly snoot exterior scenes there, and then shoot the theatre and indoors scenes in New York city. I can't recall any casting calls in Buffalo for people with theatre acting experience, and I would think that there'd be a bigger variety of theatre locations to choose between in NYC.

Only time will tell, I suppose.

I just had the pleasure of casting vote #7,071, which apparently was the one we needed to go up another notch -- to 84%. Splendid!

Looks like we just have to continue voting Keanu up -- and perhaps also vote Jensen Ackles down... ;-)

At least we've brought the percentage of up votes from 43% to 83%, and we're showing Empire that Keanu's fans are a devoted gang and that we're perfectly willing to break the system and vote repeatedly (if they ever find out that multiple votes come from the same IP addresses...) to spread the word of Our Man's supreme awsomeness.

OK, so we're now at 6,890 votes, but still at 83%. The gods alone know whether we'll get further up as far as the % go, but we oughtta get the number of votes up to well over 7,000. Keep voting, everyone!

The closer we get to 100% the harder it will be to move up a notch. I can't tell you the specifics, but a biologist once explained to me how it was virtually impossible to remove a genetic influence from a dog breed once it was there. It was something about percentages and how things get impossible to eradicate no matter how much farther you get up in the percentage of "purity". I wish I could find the mathematical example she used. It made perfect sense the way she described it.

Oh yes, they couldn't possibly cast him as anyone but Max. Can't imagine him in any other role.

They'll have to get the two most important supporting characters first, before they start throwing the rest of the roles in the air and letting people fight over them... ;-)

67% and it's going one way: up! Damn, we're good at beating the system. <evil cackle>

We're now at 66%, with 3,118 votes. Interestingly, I just voted and then clicked on the browser's back button, then forward again and clicked on the voting arrow again. The counter then showed 3,119 votes. So either someone else voted right after me, or the website lets itself get fooled by people clicking themselves back and forth. Oh, the possibilities!
