I know I know. \"It was AWESOME\" So adorable. I just would love to see them together in another movie! And let me say out loud, that my first viewing of Gen Um had me wanting to smack the living daylights outta her. But she just grew on me. And I fixed her wagon with my fanfiction. He he he.

Yes, Arya! It took a couple of viewings and hearing the commentaries to get me to like the film, I love it now. I started out really disliking Violet, but now I find Mia quite unpleasant - still, human. These people are not unfamiliar, and it makes a very uncomfortable film. And that is OK. As well as being more adorable than a roomful of kittens, at the same time.

Do not, I repeat do not, get me started on the scene with John and Mia where the commentary includes \"she\'s a BAD GIRL...\" Uh oh, I just started. I think I\'ll stop now. Yeah, that\'s a good idea.

See, Arya, every single response that just popped into my head was \"inappropriate.\" This one, however, goes to show that I am a good girl...

as the occasion may warrant...

I was a bit upset about this as apparently McAdams gave no reason for withdrawing from the film. And apparently Ms. Jolie is too concerned about her ovaries to sign on for anything at the moment.

I don\'t think McAdams will ever give any reason, at least not publicly. But there\'s one thing that caught my eye. In their \'exclusive\' report, rushed to the \'virtual print\' before anyone else managed to synch up their stories, THR gave the following sequence of events.
1. The Weinstein Co pulls Passengers from their 2015 release list
2. Rachel McAdams drops out
3. The Weinstein Co withdraws from the project.

... make of that what you will.

Luca:

Most likely scenario:

1. Someone got a call.
2. Someone did a lot of chatting up to no avail.
3. The worst case scenario actually happened.
4. Someone on Twitter is getting lots of followers.

It was a month out from filming, so I doubt people were actually expecting this unless they were watching a certain actress \"possibly\" having a meltdown. The real tragedy is that a lot of people who needed and were expecting work will not have it. I cannot in any way find the humor in this situation.

Respectfully,

Lily

Luca,

Could you be more specific? You said to make of it what I would and I did. I just don't find the aforementioned screenwriter's article humorous. That's all. I did hear that the actress slated was having some difficulties, but that is all here say and I probably should not have mentioned it. In Hollywood time the studio absolutely gotten wind of it and yanked it. But the facts we receive are not necessarily in a timely order.

Respectfully,

Lily

Yes, I could.

Who's 'someone' from your points 1 and 2 ?
Who's getting followers on Twitter ?
Who said anyone was expecting 'this'?
Are you representing the union of people who will not get work on the set of Passengers?
Who said anything about there being any humor about this situation?

'above' does not answer my first three questions about 'someone'.

The links I posted lead to

1.the screenwriter's tweet which is an answer to someone else's question, and it goes as follows:

Denise Zuba ‏@Denny_Zuba 10h
@jonspaihts Hi! The latest news about #Passengers were not good. What made me really sad.You know something good about this film to tell us?
Jon Spaihts ‏@jonspaihts
@Denny_Zuba | All is not lost. Stay tuned.

2. an article written by someone else who quotes the above tweet and then goes to share their take on the event. But the article was not written by the screenwriter and as far as I can read there's no humor in it.

There is no studio attached to this movie.

But the facts we receive are not necessarily in a timely order.

True. But there's another article that doesn't seem to follow the 'party line' re. sequence of events:
http://www.movieweb.com/news/keanue-reeves-thriller-passengers-loses-rachel-mcadams-release-date-and-distributor

The Weinstein Company has parted ways with the sci-fi thriller Passengers, which has been taken off of its April 3, 2015 release date, after production delays forced Rachel McAdams to bow out.

As someone who's had her share of unemployment, I feel sorry for them too. But sh*t happens, especially in this industry where nothing's sure unless filming actually starts and not even then. I don't believe anyone actually involved in the project and who wanted the movie to get made ever since 2006 wanted this to happen. But problems occur, and they will get solved.
