So many people telling him to do this or that...but lets looks at the outcome. The Matrix is amazing cinema and Tiger has a lifelong friendship with Reeves. On more superficial levels I believe in Mr Convivial. But when he is in pain (neck etc.) and there is a lot riding on what he does professionally I believe he needs a LOT of explanation and convincing for him to understand his motivation, just like Tiger said. I took no silly americans undertone. Or Canadian...

I clearly remember having read an extensive article about the shooting of the Matrix sequels, and how an American guy who acted as interface between Yuen Woo Ping's team and the American production team, to sort out problems created by cultural and work practice differences explained how the stunts team asked for a new cloak for Neo, because the one/s previously designed got too wet in the rain so could not be used for the 'final fight' scenes and expected to have it ready by tomorrow, and the props/costumes dept. were pulling out their hair in despair, because there was no way they could have it done 'by the next day'... and many similar aspects. the part about changing the fight routine was mentioned there as well... anyone knows where to find that article? I did save it way back then, but somewhere between two HD crashes, it got lost from my archives... | ||

Even at three months, martial arts were new to Keanu, and a last minute change in rehearsed choreography would be challenging, especially when it's the filmed version. As well, he's dyslexic, and he may have trouble learning the fights (I'm dyslexic and had a hell of a time memorizing choreography when I took dance). So a last minute change in the stress of being filmed would be difficult. It's a lot to bear when it's all on your shoulders. | ||
