Went to see Keanu Reeves's band play the Viper Room in the 90s before the joint shut down. My friend's older brother knew the management so we got to stick around after the show. I got to talk to Keanu for a couple of minutes, the dude was chill as fuck, exactly like you'd think.
As we were leaving the venue, we all exited through the same door and Keanu saw this homeless guy begging for change outside. He walked up to him and gave him a wad of cash and handed him his coat just like that. My gut tells me the coat wasn't cheap either, it looked expensive. This was during winter and I remember it being pretty cold even for LA.
God tier class act, been a huge fan since that night.

I have a buddy that's run into Keanu several times. Doesn't live in LA of NYC, just runs into him in strange places. He says the last time he ran into him, Keanu remembered him and they had a good chat.

A local radio guy tells this Keanu story, he climbs into an elevator once and is just pushing all of the buttons like kids always do, the door opens and Keanu walks in and notices that a bunch of buttons have been pressed. Keanu starts hitting the buttons too.

Keanu is super nice and chill! He was working in NYC at a casting agency and me and coworkers happened to see him standing on the street with his John Wick beard smoking like a badass as the snow was falling. We all got an awesome selfie with him. Some hipster chick randomly got a cig off him, not sure if she knew it was him or he just seemed approachable, but he was like "sure." and she just walked away after.

Gregg Barnes Way back when I was in High School, I was cast as an extra in a movie he was in. It was like his second movie. I got to be in the background for a grueling scene, that we had to do 12 takes. After the 12th, he told the director that all the background people had to sit down before we had heat stroke. The director told us all to relax, and shot the scene as a closeup. Even back them, he was really nice.

Love the guy. I was part of the first Matrix film, (in post production) when he bought 50 Harley's for the crew and stunt team.

Only spoke to him in passing and was always polite and just cool as hell.

Definately one of a kind.

Chris Johnston-AFmom I dug the pictures out when I got home... We were in California for the "World Softball Tournament" that Ned was playing in. My cousin lived there and worked for the American Cancer Society at the time. She knew where a lot of the celebrities lived because they would host events. At the time I was in love with Keanu.. well still am :) and she took me to his house. We climbed the wrought iron fence to his property, walked up the winding driveway to his home. Knocked on the open door, that he could not hear us knock on because he was playing guitar with his back to the door. When he turned around and saw us there, he simply asked who are you and how did you get here. After we told him the story and asked him not to call the police. He invited us in, gave us a beer and spoke with us. I told him how I was there for my boyfriends softball tournament and how instead of watching him play, I was going to see him. He wrote that note for Ned and I. Best Wishes to him in the softball tournament. He was such an awesome guy! If this happened today, I am not sure the outcome would be the same. This was 1990 before how crazy everyone has got. Plus, he is who he is .. so he was totally cool with it all :)

Chris Johnston-AFmom When we left, I had accidentally exposed the film in the camera, we went right to a one hour photo shop with the hopes of having the pictures saved... after an agonizing wait, there were only 3 pictures that were not all yellow from exposure... I was so grateful because no one would of ever believed us. Sometimes I still can't believe it.

We took a bus back up the mountain and cleaned up and went to dinner. We were all quite pooped and quite tired of spending money so we were in search of a cheap place. Well all of the cheap places were kind of shady, so we decided to go to this cute little restaurant which was just a little more in cost. They had a nice porch with a wooden moon on the wall, we couldn't resist.
So they gave us free samples of sangria and appetizers before we even got the menu. Which was a good move on their part because then we all got sangria, but anyways we were checking out our menus when the waiter came over and tapped my shoulder and said "do you like Keanu Reeves? Matrix" and im kind of like what? and he points to the back of someones head who is a table away from us. Sure enough Keanu Reeves is visiting his sister who lives in Anacapri and they had just joined us in our cheap little restaurant. So I order a cheeseburger and we spend the next 30 minutes trying to figure our how we can properly document the hillarity of this situtation. So I go to the bathroom which involved walking right past him and when i got back everyone at my table was like "MONA. Keanu Reeves just watched you walk all the way to the bathroom." So I was all "pshwhatever." and then somehow it was decided that now that he knew I existed it was up to me to go ask him to get in a picture with us. So I threw back the rest of my sangria, and took a few swigs of Megans, put up my hood, stood up and walked right over to him. I said "Mr. Reeves, I dont mean to be a bother but I was just wondering if it would be possible for us to get in a picture with you." He was really nice and looked into my eyes and saaaaaid "Sure, when I finish up here." so I strutted back to the table and told everyone that we would get one before he left, afraid that he would just ditch out on us. But sure enough I was sitting there taking a picture of avalan and megan in front of the moon and they started laughing really hard, and then Grant started to tug on my shoulder and I was annoyed because I was trying to take a picture and no one would hold still. But then I realized that everyone was trying to tell me that Mr. Reeves was standing behind me waiting for me. He apparently was motioning for everyone to jus tlet me take the picture. So anyways once I realized he was there I jumpedup like a super dork and was like umhcool. so he asked Karen to take the picture and was all prepared to just be in a picture with us. And so i asked if my friends could be in it and he said "Sure babe." HA. SUREBABE. HAHHA. So I told him we'd stand in front of the moon and sure enough he did it and then left. hahaa. Keanu Reeves ate a 7 euro cheeseburger like me. and he put his hand on my back. oh mama.

A friend of mine was an extra in one of his films in the late 80s and she and her sister got talking to him and ended up taking him clubbing. It was a goth club and he wore a kilt and combat boots. And was very pleasant and down to earth.

As alot of you know I do not post many things on Facebook but I finally decided to post this for everyone to see where ever you are in the world. On a trip to LA I got lost on Wilshire Boulevard just down from Rodeo Drive. I was meeting the family of Jacobs boys at a particular corner to meet some family friends after doing some window shopping. I asked this bloke if I was going the right way to orange st as I was a little lost. Little did I know who I was actually talking to. After interrogating him on offering me a lift to my desitnation and telling him I do not get into strangers cars in foreign countries he introduced himself to me. I was a little shocked to realise who I was actually talking to as I did not recognise him. Well of course I got into his black Posrche and got a lift down the street. He made sure I got to the desitnation safely calling my husband and kids ( who were on a bus to meet me) to say he had me in the car as well as the family friends we were visiting. It is not everyday a movie star like Keanu Reeves gives you a lift in Tinseltown. Here is the selfie he took with my camera.

He is! He is awesome! If you look up when he got his star on the walk of fame the little girl with him is my daughter and he was SO sweet to her bc she wanted to give him roses... just a great man! We saw him a couple years later at his book signing and he totally remembered her and was talking to her like they were besties. Just a great person all around. She loves him.

Funnily enough, I can answer that. The year was 1988, the film was ‘I Love You To Death’ and the location was Tacoma Washington. I was the first assistant editor at the time, was 22 and apart from the smell from the newspaper factories, the 3 months we all spent their shooting is still one of my best memories from a film set. Larry Kasdan, the director, had gathered a lot of his old buddies to be in the film, Like William Hurt and Kevin Kline, along with Tracy Ullman, River Phoenix and Keanu. Oh, and Heather Graham even came up for a few days before she was well known. Being around the same age as River and Keanu, we’d began to hang out at the weekends, checking out the clubs and bars trolling for the local beauties. To be honest, they weren’t great, but while in Rome… anyway, one night, Keanu and I found ourselves a few miles from Tacoma at closing time and a half bottle of tequila in our hands. Unable to get a cab this late, we saw one of those mile long industrial trains and as it was crawling along, we thought it would be a good idea to jump onto one of the empty carriages. It was headed in the right direction… what could possibly go wrong! Just this… the train began to speed up and before we knew it, it had shot through Tacoma and our jumping off point and it seemed to have no intention of stopping any time soon. We decided there wasn’t much we could do about our situation right now, so we sat down and started to drink the tequila and talk about life. We went through seemingly endless forests, towns and even some incredibly long tunnels, where it became a bit scary as it really was total pitch black in there, could not even see your nose. I do so vividly remember the night sky, We were speeding through some wonderful, almost magical forest and because there were no towns anywhere close, we could see what looked like the whole universe… the clearest I have ever seen and I remember we were so awestruck that we just sat in silence for quite a while, just looking up. After about 4 or 5 hours and a few States, and after Keanu and I had successfully solved all the worlds problems with the help of our Mexican amigo (I don’t remember who ate the worm), we arrived in this tiny town. That is not an understatement, it had a bar, a store and a few houses. Keanu and I crawled off, hung over by now and made for the bar, where it was like being in an old technicolor western, as the music stops when the stranger enters. It didn’t help that Keanu had one side of his head shaved for his part in the film. Eventually, we got the brother of the waitress to drive into town and for $200 get us back to Tacoma for the shooting that morning… it was now about 6.45am. We did’t have cellphones back then so there was no way of telling the production where we were… besides, we hadn’t brought the number. So, we all crammed into the front seat of this guys pick up and drove like the wind back through 2 states, Oregon being one of them, all the while with the windows rolled up and our host smoking the biggest doobie you’ve ever seen! We were late and got a bit of a telling off until they heard about our adventure and then we became sitting targets for a continuous array of bad jokes throughout the rest of the shoot! What was it like to sit beside Keanu Reeves. Adventurous, unexpected and a bit chilly at times! Lol

Brother played pool with Keanu Reeves in Australia. Every time Reeves missed a shot my brother would go, "Bogus." After a while Keanu was saying, "shut up dude."

I'd like to point out that that is bat-poop crazy. Yes, he has female friends. Wow. Gosh. I have male friends etc. People take pictures of his house. Big whoop. Do any of the people (perhaps I should say "women" because, um, yeah) EVER look at or repost paparazzi pics? Do I mean, like, every day? Let's look up the word "hypocritical."

Nobody needs that kind of fans, who are threatened and unhinged about his every real or perceived relationship of any kind. They need another hobby besides spending all day, every day, on UGossip.

Contrast all of this nonsense, this horse manure, with the lovely short video that LucaM posted the other day, saying hi to a young fan for Make A Wish. Beautiful. Let's be that in the world. Thanks.

But in an interesting turn of events, when we went to pay our bill, the waiter told us it had already been settled. I don't want to jump to conclusions, but Keanu Reeves definitely paid for our cocktails.

Story Time: A dear friend and coworker of mine met Keanu with her husband about 10-12 years ago in New York when dining out with friends. At the time she and her husband would have been in their mid to late 60's, and didn't know who he was until a friend pointed it out. My friend's husband who was always very social and a jokester said "Well shit, lets go say hi". This guy is a good ol' boy who worked in a steel mill in rural Kentucky most of his life. Their friends were mortified and wanted to hide under the table until they glanced over to see Keanu and him laughing histarically. Keanu not only invited them all over to his table to take a pic and get an autograph, he ordered them drinks and spoke with them for a few. A real class act.

Keanu story time. During the filming of the Matrix I worked at the hotel the Wachowskis were staying at during the shoot. The entire cast spent weeks there before the shoot working the scrypt so we-the employees got to know them all very well.
One night Keanu comes in in a beautiful restored Triumph and we spark up a convo about how awesome old school bikes were. We chatted till larrys wife came down looking for him. He was so genuinely happy to have a normal convo about something he loved and had a passion for that he remembered me every time he ever saw me at the Argyle or out and about in LA. Truly a genuinely nice guy.
