Which guy is that - the Matrix runner?

And if what he's saying is true, then where did that prostitute get the money to open the brothel? :\\

If the woman's profile brings her to the notice of those in K's strata, she's had many other high profile clients Ani - money to open her own house could have come from anywhere ;).

This is just one more of too many to keep track of by now down the pike.. Did he? Didn't he? What does it really matter, in the end? It reminds me of Pretty Woman and the comment that he bought services because he didn't want romantic entanglements - as valid a reason as any other and perhaps more so in such a case as K while at work :). Did he? Didn't he?

Perhaps he has now and then, no reason not to have (if one can put aside the specter of STDs) and there's nothing wrong or right in it. In fact, considering who and what the original call girls were/and some still are, they are a much safer bet health-wise than someone met casually. Make no mistake, true call girls were never 'classic' hookers ;).

Did he? Didn't he?

you know... it makes me smile to see this subject discussed in a thread titled Henry's Crime ... ;)

I'm sorry, but I think the whole story reeks of insane imagination. First of all, an ordinary prostitute would never get paid that kind of money. The ones who *do* get paid that much make sure to shut up about it. Also, they don't work alone - they have an "agent" (read: "mama"). They very often have returning clients, so they would never goss about it to neighbours or friends. And I can pretty much guarantee you that a guy who pays such a sum for a woman will also be in the mood for her. And BTW, how do you actually pay someone that amount of money? Cash? Who would have that amount of cash lying around? And you sure as hell don't pay by credit card.

And: yellow teeth? While being busy playing Neo, with all those close-ups? Nah.

Nope, the whole story is made up - maybe based on some small portion of a rumour floating around. Remember, after the Geffen rumour went around the world - making huge headlines everywhere - there were people who swore that they'd been to the actual wedding. There were no pictures, but the tabloids still used the rumour for what it was worth (and more). If any goss about Keanu and an expensive hooker had floated around in Australia (where the media had a 24-hour-a-day Keanu watch going on), you can bet your collective ass that this would have surfaced somewhere.

Do I think that Keanu would pay for sex? Well, no. Not that I think he'd be opposed to it as an idea, but simply because he'd be too embarrassed to do it. This is a guy who's shy enough that he finds it hard to approach a woman at a club where he's hanging with his buddies. How would he manage to approach a hooker, and where would that have happened? I can't imagine him negotiating about price and conditions. I find it much easier to imagine someone starting a groundless rumour about him doing it. I can, for instance, imagine a woman starting it after having come on to him, only to be turned down. "Hell hath no fury", and all that.

Person says: "He paid her $50K in total for two night.....in cash as well! EWWWWW...."

I've actually heard that mentioned before, because of his smoking.

... 'agent', remember? and I don't mean Agent Smith ;)
besides, those ladies are professionals. one of the advantages of choosing their services is that one doesn't have to be shy about it ;)

quite possibly... ;)

Nah, it was great you posted that. At least you got it direct from the person, which makes it more reliable than someone having heard it from the prostitute's brother's best friend.

Well, was there really a prostitute at all? I think she was entirely a figment of the comment-poster's imagination, and then the same thing would apply to the whole brothel-starting thing. Imagination run amok. Or amuck.

no, like Ani said, it's better to hear as many sides of a story as possible.

PS- I'm still waiting for that fic ;) :D

Ohh, the fic :p Unfortunately it is not yet written, as I am slogged by midterms and am trying not to fail. But let's just say that Agent Smith will be doing some negotiating soon enough... ;)

The updated casting call is interesting. The hooker rumor is probably just a rumor, ridiculous things get started about stars all the time.

HAHAHAHAHAHA!! Oh, priceless. Priceless! I just stumbled upon the website for a Buffalo radio station called Kiss 98,5, and they have a phone interview with Keanu from his last visit to Buffalo. It's so funny. They ask him about this one word that he often says in his movies (and of course you immediately think "whoa") but it's another word entirely. And they have him say it over and over. I was LOLing through the whole thing.

And you could just tell that he was relaxed and in a great mood. Listen to his voice -- his pitch isn't as low as it usually is, and you can just hear that he's grinning. :-D

I usually don't save videoclips or soundclips of Keanu's interviews, but this one went straight into my Keanu folder. Maybe someone who's fluent in English could transcribe the interview for the archive?

Here. There are some bits I couldn't catch; anyone can fill them in? then I'll add it to the archive.

K: Hello?
J: Keanu Reeves, Janet and Nick on Kiss 98.5. How are you?
K: I'm good, good morning!
J: Good morning! Are you enjoying your time in Buffalo, Keanu?
K: I am indeed, uh, just got in this morning, and uh, I'm looking at the, uh, M&T Bank, Buffalo savings bank, a beautiful building here, and uh, in the movie I'm going to uh, try and rob it
N: Tell us why you chose Buffalo as the location for your movie, Keanu.
K: Well, extensively (?), uh, the story was, uh, we just kind of came up with the writer and the producer when we were, um, writing the script. It just seemed that uh, this location that, uh, it felt right. I think we'd just got to the history of the city (?)
J: All right. Have they made it easy for you to get everything you need here in Buffalo for your movie?
K: Yeah, everyone's been really great. Um... you know, we, uh, seen the different court rooms, we've gone to uh, some bank ... (?), just trying ot look at different locations and everyone we've met has been uh, really nice.
N: Who else is going to be in the movie? Who are the big stars coming into town for me to hang out with?
K: Uh there's no other big stars hanging out with me today, uh we have James Caan in the picture
N: Yes.
J: That's amazing.
K: And, uh, lovely actress Vera Farmiga.
J: Wow.
K: And, um, yeah, so those two guys are going to be stars in the film (?).
J: Cool. How long are you gonna be in town for, Keanu?
K: I'm gonna be here today, and uh coming back uh later, in, uh, December.
J: And so what are the movies are you working on? Is this the only project you're working on right now, or do you have other things on the burner?
K: Um, I'm working on this film right now and hopefully, you know, some things will... coming up in the future hopefully but right now this has been my focus; the film's called Henry's Crime, I've been working on it for about three years, and, uh, you know it's coming together, and hopefully we'll get to make it and hopefully people will like it. It's a... kind of romantic comedy heist movie. Uh, with a, you know, a warm hearted ... (?)
J: What about extras for your movie, because I know a lot of people in Buffalo want to be in this movie. How can they get into your movie?
K: I don't know, I guess there are casting agents who're in town.
J: Okay. All right, so contact them and that's how they get in the movie.
K: You know, there's a lot of different ways. Um, you know, sometimes it depends on, really, you know, the location et cetera, you know, we don't, we're not really sure what we're doing yet, we're kind of putting it together, so I can't really, uh, specifically answer that question.
J: That's cool. D'you know, we've been each and every day on Kiss 98.5 kind of auditioning for your movies, trying to channel your Keanu Reeves acting spirit with one word, because we found that there's one word you like to say in movies. Do you know about this?
K: I do not.
J: You... you say 'what', in a very creative, inspirational way. And so each day we try to do it the way you do it.
N: 'what? what?'
J: We try to do that each day, 'cos we love it. There's just something about the way you say the word 'what'
N: Only you do your 'what', like you-
J: Only you, you do that. Could you just do it, once for us.
N: 'What?'
K: (laughs) I... don't know if I... am I impersonating myself in any particular film?
N: Uh... all of them!
K: (laughs)
N: From what I get, sort of channelling, 'cos I think it's-
K: I'm rolling all of my 'what's together into one 'what'
N: I'm looking for one ultimate 'what' from Keanu Reeves.
K: The ultimate 'what'. ... Well, uh... oh, gosh.
J: Do you need an (...?)
K: Um, you know, I think you always have to kind of be in the moment, you know, given your, you know, the (...?) given circumstances of... of that moment. So I think today I'm going to go, "What?"
N: (laughs)
J: That's the one we're going to use, that's it-
N: That's incredible!
J: Keanu, just one more time. 'Cos this is, this is a major moment in my life. I'm ready.
K: "What?"
J: Okay. One more time! Do it again!
N: (in hysterics) You missed it, Janet!
J: No! I-
K: "What?" ...All right, I have to go back to, uh, try and figure this film out out here, thank you so much for your time, and have a beautiful day.
J: One more time, Keanu!
K: "What?"
