Forum Posts: 1364 Comments: 153 Reviews: 0 | The latest news report says that the Kenmore location shoot is the last scene to be filmed in western NY. I am really surprised that they aren't going to have any more scenes from Buffalo. Especially since I doubt if NYC can pass for Buffalo in terms of weather. Then again, how many outdoors scenes were there in the script? Now that I think of it, pretty few. But the toll booth scene? They were talking about using the toll station (is that the word?) in Niagara for that.
Oh well, they'd be packing up pretty soon anyway for Christmas. It's already December 18th (I'm in Christmas denial, so I have ignored the daily countdownb all through December). And then, according to news, they'll be filming until January 28th. Probably only in NYC, then. Poor Buffalonians. They were probably hoping for more scenes of Buffalo in the movie. All this fuss, and then they're there for just one week? I myself would have been pretty miffed. :-/ Edit: More about this here: http://www.wgrz.com/news/local/story.aspx?storyid=72912&catid=37

Forum Posts: 4842 Comments: 381 Reviews: 13 | sixty hotel rooms booked for one whole week ? that's not such a bad deal ;) besides, I think most of the crew is NY based, so... well... it kinda makes sense to shoot the indoor scenes in NYC.

Forum Posts: 1364 Comments: 153 Reviews: 0 | I dunno. All the location scouting (three different visits!), all the fuss on the news, all the talk about the movie's tax cut from filming in western NY and how funding would've been difficult to get without that tax cut, and the boost for Buffalo's economy with all the jobs as extras and crew, and the from-out-of-town actors/crew spending money, and then all they do is spend one measly week? They eat and get their catering at Chef's restaurant, they stay at the Hyatt, they drink Starbucks coffee, and perhaps they bought some wool underwear. Pffft!
I doubt if they get a similar tax cut in NYC, and I don't think most of the NYC-based crew live close to the filming locations so they'll probably need hotel rooms anyway. And hotels are ridiculously expensive in NYC. Then again, Our Man will probably be staying at his own apartment by Central Park, so they'll save the cost of his hotel bill for the remainder of the shoot.

Forum Posts: 1364 Comments: 153 Reviews: 0 | Oh yes, of course. They might have been planning to use the jail as the location for the prison scenes. Hmmm. Wonder where they'll be shooting that, then.
OK, let's see now. They'll need a jail and a courtroom. They'll need a theatre. They probably shot all the tunnel-digging scenes in Buffalo. They did the exterior shoot for the bank robbery, but they still need to shoot the robbery itself. And the toll booth scene. And Henry/Debbie in their house at the beginning of the movie. Henry's apartment after getting released from prison. And Henry standing outside the bank thinking about robbing it, as well as several short street scenes in Buffalo. What else?

Forum Posts: 1364 Comments: 153 Reviews: 0 | Now they're even auctioning off branding opportunities in Henry's Crime! Hmmm, isn't it a bit late for that, considering that the movie is already well into actually being shot? The auction is to be held on January 20th, and the actual filming of the movie is supposed to be finished by January 28th. Do they think they can just casually throw a bottle of Coke into the last scene being shot...?

Forum Posts: 1364 Comments: 153 Reviews: 0 | A little more from Buffalo:
http://www.mondoville.com/2010/01/keanu-reeves-helps-buffalo-feel-less-holiday-hopelessness/ Keanu & crew are now filming in Tarrytown, New York. He was spotted downtown only a few hours ago according to someone on Twitter. Good to know that they're back at work. Just hope it isn't as cold there as it was in Buffalo. Edit: I'm @inkhuldra on Twitter, in case anyone else is there. :-)

Forum Posts: 1364 Comments: 153 Reviews: 0 | Latest from Tarrytown:
"Henry's Crime with Keanu Reeves and James Caan is filming in Tarrytown NY for the next few days, at corner of Main St and Rte 9 in an abandoned bank bldg in the center of town. Shooting moves after that to Tarrytown Music Hall, a 125 yr old theater a block away." I'm wondering: Doesn't it say in the script that Henry has a beard when they start rehearsing the play? The Tarrytown Music Hall is obviously the location for the play, and Keanu was completely smooth-shaven as lately as yesterday. Dang! Looks like only the smoothie-fans get him the way they want him in this movie. I demand beardness in the next one!

naw, Henry grows a beard while in jail. But when he leaves the jail he's clean shaved, and the script makes no other mentions about the matter. or at least I didn't see any. But then, such details are subject to change... ... don't worry, ink, the beard will be back ;) |
