This interview with Keanu and Vera Farmiga was probably posted already, but it is new to me. Keanu looks relaxed and gorgeous. :-)

I hadn't caught that interview, Joke, so thanks for posting. I've never seen Keanu look so comfortable in an interview - smiling a lot. And of course, gorgeous, as you said.

OK, so I watched Henry's Crime again, and it definitely went down better the second time. Like our man himself, there's a lot more there under the surface than you think at first.

@BlueGem, that's how it goes for me too. I hate to admit it but I came out of the theater complaining about Reloaded. Now its one of my fav movies. It's always more about my limiting knee jerk opinions. There was just so much to digest. Then I give the movie another look see and I am loving it to death. HC is not best enjoyed on the big screen and I can see why it did not do so well at the theaters.

"Next, we broke the film down into logical first constituencies for the film, which we identified as follows: 1) fans of Keanu Reeves and fans of his prior movies, 2) fans of Vera Farmiga and fans of her prior movies, 3) fans of James Caan and fans of his prior movies, 4) twitter accounts that mentioned any of the cast as well as those dedicated to independent film etc., 5) web communities dedicated to anything related to the playwright Anton Checkov (because the film features significant and lengthy scenes dedicated to Reeves and Farmiga performing Checkov’s Cherry Orchard), 6) key websites dedicated to romantic comedies, 7) key recommenders of independent film, etc. Over the course of approximately six weeks prior to release, we reached out to these sites regularly, in an effort to build excitement for the film."

Excepting for that contest, what effort did they make to reach out to the fans or web communities? I guess it was all too little too late.
But I do agree that movie will be very popular on dvd. It's perfect for home viewing.

ARYA - frankly, except for that contest, I didn't see anything else. And as far as I know, the film's facebook page was not updated either. (I might be mistaken, though; can't really be bothered to learn how facebook works. I'm too old for that shit ;) )

too little too late indeed.

the Side by Side website/fb page... now that's another story altogether ;) :)

Don't know if this Vera Farniga interview was already posted : http://vera-farmiga.com/press/2012/02/moving-pictures-spring-2011/

MP: Keanu is often referred to as one of “the nicest guys” to work with. What does that mean on set? Is he giving everyone a back rub, or is it in the way he prepares and commits to a project?

Farmiga: Nice is a lame word to describe Keanu. He’s generous (though I never got a back rub). Earnest. Kind. Quirky. Committed. Forthright. Boyish. Offbeat. Funny. Diligent. Obsessive-compulsive about the character he is playing. Straightforward and mysterious at the same time.

Great description. Too bad about the backrub, though!

Finally saw this. I blew it off at first, equally annoyed and confused by KR's interpretation of Henry...until I realized I couldn't stop thinking about it. It's like Keanu poked around in my brain, dug up all the stuff I bury every day, and used it to produce a character that is, emotionally speaking, a mirror image of me. He's done this before - explained aspects of myself to me through his work - but it continues to startle me every time it happens, probably because I've never seen any other actor do it. And it showed me the nature of my perceived connection to him - not that I feel I know him, but rather that I feel he knows me.

There's a lot more to say about this movie, but I almost feel like I have to let it keep marinating for a while.

jack - the first time I read HC's script, my reaction was "... I am Henry".
Things haven't changed much since then.

then again, perception is everything.

'Henry' speaks to many of us, especially of a certain age, and mileage.

Does it speak to you the same way Generation Um... did? I haven't seen that one but given what you said about it - and after KR hit me between the eyes with Henry - I'm wondering if there's a correlation.

Yeah, now that you mention it... it does speak to me almost in the same way. Kinda.
It's hard to define :)

Three things about "Henry's Crime" : (1) it made me read Chekov, (2) Henry's perfect middle hair part made me laugh, (3) it has the most interesting and almost perfect chemistry during the last 30 minutes of the film.
