Not Bad

The family dynamic in this movie is what made it something.

I like this movie, and think it is worth one watch. Keanu Reeves plays a scientist/dad/husband, who is faced with a decision that many of us who have experienced the loss of loved ones, wished of having perhaps once.

I would have enjoyed a deeper delve into the "should he", "shouldn't he" part of the movie. For the whole movie is very much so questioning "Just because you can, doesn't mean you should" concept.

There're some situations touched upon, but not really fleshed out, and Reeve's character did somethings that didn't fully make sense. All in all, not bad.

This movie is an okay snack and watch moment.

6/10

Watcher, The (2000) – 2022-01-04 02:05:23
Ok Let's See

Since I can't Review Matrix 4 Yet(What is this "Spoiler" Protection?) , I'm going to review "The Watcher", pretty much as I watch it for the first time.

Ok Let's see...So far the editing I see is supposed to seemingly disoriented, but it just reminds of a cheap MTV-esque music video.
Rob Zombie song, I dig the choice.
Marisa Tomei, I dig the choice.
Dutch Angles?...I don't dig.
Keanu is creepy, but cringe creepy, NOT Scary creepy so far.
Ernie Hudson? I dig the choice.
I'm going to be honest, as of now, this isn't holding my attention. I'm skipping a little.

What is good about Reeves' portrayal, is the eye work he does. The character likes to sit back and observe the results of his actions, and Reeve's shows that easily.

Some how this movie doesn't build up the Action or thrill at all for. It really seems like something you'd find on MTV if they did movies. A quick movie with quick cuts and a few Dutch Angles. The lead Detective played well, if only one note.

5.5/10 . Watch it once, and done.

Watching Now

I'm watching this now for the first time. 59 minutes in I checked out to write a review for Destination Wedding, and now this review as well.

It is a slow movie. It's not a Thiller per se, nor an Action...I don't know about the angle between the characters in the romance, because it's not romantic.

Why is the main character doing all this other stuff while supposedly looking for his diamonds?

You could watch the movie once, I say. So far nothing to rave about.

Going to finish the movie after I take out the trash.

A pending 5.5/10

Destination Wedding (2018) – 2020-05-10 22:34:39
Cute

Thanks for reading any of my reviews, in all their not good grammar and typo glory ????.

Destination Wedding is a cute movie. It is self aware, but not too annoyingly so.
The dialogue is slightly witty, with the characters speaking thoughts as if it were, a one run on sentence.
Brings together two familiar actors, and puts their supporting character type tropes into the lead roles.
The shots go back and forth between medium shots of am awkward atmosphere with Winona Ryder and Keanu Reeves, to beautiful wide shots of landscapes. This alienates the characters more from their scenic surroundings, which do not reflect their cynical views.
This movie is predictable, but you kinda want it that way.

Cute. 6/10

John Wick 3: Parabellum (2019) – 2020-05-01 21:00:04
An Honest Review From am Honest Fan

WOOT WOOT John Wick is back again, again peoples.

As an Action movie fan, a John Wick fan, and a Keanu Reeves fan, I am always happy to jot down a review. Now most of us (if not all) are in quarantine, I have nothing but time on my hands.

John Wick 3 is a continuation of the day in the life of the title character. If you love action sequences with increasing circumstances, this is for you.
I dig this movie

There's more editing of the fights in this one. More than the first John Wick. The continuous shot during the fight scenes then was what I loved about the first movie. This one therefore, seems different.

John Wick's world was always bigger than just him, but in the past it was a back drop. Now we are being submerged into all of it. Everyone has a promise, an oath, a deal, a plan, and a reason. This makes the plot kinda...webbed. Is there anyone in New York who IS NOT a part of this secret world of assassins?

Particularly the fight between big baddie samurai Mark Dacascos verses Keanu Reeves, left a flat note to me. The movie did a great job at building up to their inevitable face off. The fight was fine. The glass room was visually interesting, and disorienting. Though it was okay, it didn't live up to the build that they created. Also, Reeves, Dacascos are real life bad A's, I don't think they got to the level in their fight that I've seen both performers do in previous roles.

I will say this perhaps unpopular opinion. The John Wick creators may have backed themselves in a corner regarding action sequences. What famous face will that let pop in next? Will it be another "Expendables"? After a horse fight, motorcycles, and glass on glass rooms...where can they go?

Will Wick fight on a moving bus driven by Sandra Bullock to nod to "Speed"? Will there be a room full of Bruce Lee look-a-likes for Wick to cut through?
There's nothing left for them to do in my imagination.

I will be glad to see the great creators involved with this beloved franchise proof me wrong.

All in all 7.5/10
