What's it say about us when someone describing the film as 'decent' makes us feel revenged? :(

no, not because of that.
but because in a way she points out that the discrepancy between the film and the comics is not that big ( as some of the fanboys made it appear. I still have a problem with that )
at least that's how I read it.

From The Hollywood Reporter's review of Constantine, no longer available in its full form to the public:

"An engrossing mix of atmospheric gothic horror and smart sci-fi that's cemented by intriguing mythology, terrific visual effects, a dry sense of humor and an ideally cast Keanu Reeves, the picture officially heralds the end of the New Year release doldrums."

"...But it's Reeves who, outfitted with an economy of dialogue and costume designer Louise Frogley's sleek monochromatic apparel, gets the requisite film noir look and attitude down cold. He and Weisz, who once again projects a beguiling combination of beauty and intelligence, make for a classically cynical graphic novel couple."

Also,

Moving away from comics, [Karen] Berger had high praise for the Constantine movie, starring Keanu Reeves. She asserted, "it looks and feels like a Vertigo book. Yes, Keanu Reeves is not British, but he understands the character."

Ok, here is my first contribution to the forum:) This is a poem about Constantine, I wrote a while ago:)

You slit your wrists when you were twelve
And right away you went to hell
But you came back, your life was saved
your life was saved

You did not know what was right
And eeryone thought you'd lost your mind
But you got up and walked away
You walked away

You felt the need to disobey
And you forgot haw to pray
But you began to fight the dark
To fight the dark

You killed the demons left and right
You were the winnier in that fight
And no doubt you had the spark
You had the spark

But your heart and soul were still in pain
And once again you cut your vein
And then you made a sacrifice
A sacrifice

In agony you mdade a plea
You asked that God comes and gets thee
And then in pain you closed your eyes
You closed your eyes

You were restored to your life
And all because of sacrifice
And your restored your faith in God
Your faith in God

You knew that things ahead were hard
But you had Spirit in your heart
You said you'd do some cleaning up
Some cleaning up

Very nice Mare :).

Most poetry and I don't share the same ground because most of it leaves me scratching my head - but yours I can read and even understand ;).

This may just be a rumour, but any rumours about a Constantine II are more than welcome. I *want* to see our favourite antihero, Johnny-boy, again. But blonde? Oh please, no!

No no no no no. No blonde, please. Like LucaM said, the darker, the better.

That said, if a Constantine sequel is really happening... that would pretty much make my life right now.

I made peace with the idea that a sequel won't happen.
but still, a girl can dream ;)
