I've been kind of creeped out by Eli Roth ever since that time he engaged in internet sex chats with underaged female fans, getting them to send him naked photos. They were pretty enthusiastic about that, but still. Abuse of fame and teenage desperation. :/

but curiously enough, hearing that summary of the 1977 film made me a little more okay with this, opposite of ARYA's reaction. I generally seem to do fine when it's men being tortured by women, regardless of who the men in question are, whereas I find the opposite to be traumatising, especially when sex is involved.

and armchair psychologist here, but does it look like he's really trying to shake off his 'hero' persona? ;)
