Keanu is the only actor I've heard approve a bromance between two of his characters. And of course he'd have to specify what food they eat.

Keanu Reeves may look like he's in his 30s but he couldn't have played this part in his 30s. There's a self-awareness here that was missing from Keanu's Matrix-era performances; John Wick doesn't wink at the audience but it is heightened in a way that allows the film to keep its tongue in its cheek enough that the relentless violence maintains a tone of pure, exhilarating fun. Reeves plays the role with the slightly wooden affect for which he's been mocked in the past, but it's part of the joke because it allows the larger-than-life world of the movie to bloom around him.

Yup, not just noodles, but RAMEN. I'm mildly amazed that he didn't specify what kind of ramen. I can easily imagine about a half-hour riff on the virtues of various styles of ramen.

...I keep forgetting and remembering that John Wick was partly filmed in the neighbourhood I was staying in in Brooklyn, right after I left.

If I spot my old house, I will be insanely happy.

John Wick doing well at the box office can only be a surprise to someone who simply wasn't paying attention to all the fantastic reviews and press.

Or to someone who was but is trying to make it look like it ain't so. Like Deadline Hwood's 'box office analyst', who starts her first article with "and it's getting decent reviews (around 89% on Rotten Tomatoes). But, after Keanu Reeves' last dismal outing of 47 Ronin in the states, this Lionsgate release will test if there is box office prowess left in the 50-year-old action star."

http://deadline.com/2014/10/ouija-john-wick-keanu-reeves-box-office-858902/

and continues with:
"John Wick, the violent R-rated film which was a co-produced with Chinese investors, had the advantage of opening in IMAX theaters this weekend. The Cinemacore is only a B which means exit polls for its core audience weren't that great despite mixed to positive reviews. That will average out to a 2.9 multiple. Surprisingly, Keanu Reeves' average opening is only $17.6M for wide releases. "

and " Okay, why would anyone make a big-budget Keanu Reeves picture when his average opening for a wide release film is only $16.9M (after John Wick's $14.1M+ opening). Anyone? Anyone? (Bueller?) With a B CinemaScore, it should average out to a 2.9 multiple or tap out around $40M domestically. "

someone called her out on that bs:
ASFan -John Wick has "mixed-to-positive reviews" when it's at an 86% RT score while Fury is "well-received" at a 77% RT score?

luckily, there are others who pay attention, too:
http://www.forbes.com/sites/scottmendelson/2014/10/26/box-office-ouija-summons-20m-weekend-keanu-reeves-john-wick-opens-to-14m/

In truly excellent "tracking is for losers" news, Keanu Reeves's superb action vehicle John Wick earned $14.15 million over its debut weekend, including $870,000 worth of Thursday previews and a $5.45m opening Friday. That's a decent 2.58x weekend multiplier. The tracking had this one pegged at $8m, but they were refreshingly wrong. Because sometimes we deserve to have our faith rewarded. Because John Wick is the action anti-hero we deserve AND need right now. The film is a Lionsgate (Lions Gate Corp.) acquisition, and I have to give them plaudits for their marketing campaign. For a film that looked a month or so ago like a dump, Lionsgate pulled out all the stops to turn a theoretical B-movie action pick-up into something of an A-level event for film nerds.

They secured a surprising IMAX release (it earned $2.5 million in 347 IMAX theaters) and turned the film's release into something of a coronation for its iconic star. As someone who has long defended Keanu Reeves both as a movie star and as an actor, the relative embrace by the film critic/pundit community felt oddly vindicating. For the record, we're talking about a $14 million debut weekend, so let's not get too hyperbolic. But the David Leitch/Chad Stahelski-directed and Derek Kolstad-written action picture received nearly unanimously rave reviews and, not to give myself and others of my ilk too much credit, but I think this is a case where strong reviews actually made a difference. The film played 18% IMAX, 60% male, and 77% over-25 years old.

This was a better debut than A Walk Among the Tombstones ($12.6m) and Three Days to Kill ($12.2m) but obviously well-under The Equalizer ($35m).Like a lot of 1990′s movie stars, Reeves doesn't have a bunch of mega-openings (six $20m+ debuts, three of which were Matrix films) since he came of age when a $14m debut for Speed could theoretically lead to a months-long run and a $121m domestic total. Even as recently as 2006, he and Sandra Bullock (who until five years ago had never had a $20m debut) opened (the painfully underrated) The Lake House to $13.6m and watched it earn $52.3m domestic (a 3.8x weekend multiplier). Reeves films tend to have sturdy legs (again twas a different time), so I can certainly see this one possibly ending up at $50m domestic. I would certainly rather see John Wick Kills Yet Again than Bill and Ted's Sadly Disappointing Quest.

This is R rated, they could've easily compromised like many action movies do to stash more dollars but they didn't and went ahead with what it was and that is why it IS special. For a movie whose marketing efforts started 4 weeks back, this is one hell of a show!

Why in the name of God are they trying to connect what Keanu said about his studio offers and the success of JW? Its pissing me off that they are trying to attribute its success to some non existent "SYMPATHY" factor. Nonsense. It is a great movie that appeals to its target audience. Period. Deal with it.

“We loved this movie from the first time saw it,” Jason Constantine, Lionsgate's president of acquisitions and co-productions, told TheWrap Sunday.

I'm forgetting about box office. I'll buy tickets, tell everyone, but that's all I can do. I'm not going to let fretting about box office or stupid reviews make me less delighted about this film. This is CINEMA, and I'm just going to enjoy it!

but also
Keanu gives acting advice and glowing, lovely support to Ms Malone. So far beyond sweet and wonderful.

In the movie the main hero of the movie John Wick after retiring from the contract-killing game suffers a great tragedy when his wife dies of a lasting illness. And this reason that why after the death of his loving wife he became alone and started leading a distressed life. At that time the only gift which his wife left for him as a parting gift in the form of an adorable, playful puppy plays an important role in his life. This puppy becomes his sidekick, riding shotgun by day and sleeping shotgun in his bed by night.
