"Paying homage to Keanu's history of saying 'Whoa' in films, many of this film's characters say "Oh" in a similar way whenever John Wick's name is mentioned. However, the directors deliberately avoided having Keanu's character saying it."

...Oh.

John Wick does exist :)

John Wick, the Movie Connection
If you are familiar with the popular series of big-screen movies called "John Wick," yes, it does have a family connection to John Wick the founder/owner of Wick Buildings and recipient of the 2017 Bernon G. Perkins Award. Wick's grandson, Derek Kolstad is the screenwriter.

You won't find many similarities in character, however. The movie is about an assassin named John Wick. Keanu Reeves plays the part of John Wick, and according to the real John Wick, it was Reeves who gave the movie its name. "My grandson...wrote my name in as the assassin, with a different name for the movie," he said, adding: "A series was planned like the James Bond series, with John Wick having a similar ring to James Bond."

According to John, his grandson is now writing "John Wick: Chapter 3." He has been writing movies for 20 years, and "John Wick" is his best and biggest success.

I think it's a cute idea to name a fictional character like or similar to a beloved family member

In the journalist's defense, there was a time, during the production of John Wick when Keanu was credited as an executive producer of the movie. Now I'm sorry I didn't take screenshots of the IMDb page at that time... Then his name wasn't listed as such, and now even Hamel appears as 'uncredited'.

There are still traces of that initial 'crediting' in some interviews from 2014.

And went from being a first-time director on that movie to working with two first-time directors on this one. Could you relate to anything about their experiences?
In a way, I could relate to what they were going through with pre-production and post-production. Certainly on "John Wick," I could help as a producer, because I knew what they were up against as a performer in the movie. I could try and do things to help them achieve things.

But I would definitely—not that they asked for it, but I was that guy who was like, “When you do this, you should think about this,” and, “When you’re doing this, maybe you should watch out for this.” I tried to be a little bit of a producer in it. I wasn’t, but I would do producorial things, like to try and get certain shots, or time, or resources. Or just making sure when you’re editing that they watched it on the big screen once in a while, as opposed to just watching it on the little screen.

He gave them both expensive motorcycles as gifts for their work in The Matrix trilogy, as he did to all of his stunt crew, and he modestly gives them most of the credit for making John Wick happen, even though, as one of the film’s executive producers, he hired them for the gig.

Coming from that side of things, do you see production a little bit differently now?
Absolutely. Yeah. With Chad and Dave, they had a lot of experience shooting second unit with their action design company. I had worked with them over the years. So coming from directing Man of Tai Chi, then to partnering with them on their first film, I was trying to help in a [producer-like fashion].

and a bit of a slip here

Reeves said he "was secretly hoping that they would want to direct it." "Then they had to get the job, and then they came to me and the other producer, Basil Iwanyk, and they pitched their vision for the movie and it was extraordinary."

John Wick (2014)
John Wick, directed by Chad Stahelski and David Leitch, begins with a horrific puppy murder (which at least happens off-screen) and ends with a kind of benediction. In between, its star, Keanu Reeves, moves through an undulating revenge plot that involves smoking a whole bunch of Russian baddies. And oh, how he moves! Reeves is one of our finest action stars, perhaps among the best of all time, in a line tracing back at least to Douglas Fairbanks. Much of that has to do with his lithe physicality, his way of working through a routine of kicks and punches with grace and vigor. Reeves’ subdued wit, the way his ultra-serious façade barely masks a sly wink, is part of the package, too. It doesn’t hurt that the fight scenes in John Wick are beautifully orchestrated: Stahelski and Leitch are both veteran stuntpeople themselves, so they shoot the action to showcase the glory of human movement. There’s no muddy fast cutting, no excessive CGI to “improve” on what mere bodies can do. Action films, done right, are one of the great pleasures of moviegoing, and John Wick—violent, sick as hell, and often terrifically funny—has it all.
