thanks for the explanation I.R.A.
When you see more of the Leno appearances you will know more of what I mean when I say that Jay does not let him talk, especially when he was younger. And yes they do have some common interests in motorcycles and fast cars but remember that Keanu has stated flat out that he is "not a gearhead".
I understand that Generation Um dvd is released in Russia so maybe you can get it? I am unsure how things go in europa. No Amazon.com there?
I have heard all the dialogue so there is nothing I can't tell you about. Me or LucaM :)

I'm from Ukraine :-p Minor detail, sorry, but important for me :))) And for the next 3 years, at least, I'm a resident of the state of Massachusetts :)

Anyway, yes, Amazon usually delivers to post-Soviet countries. And guys at vk.com/keanurussianclub write that Russian DVD of Generation Um is going to be available in November - not sure where this info comes from... I like to watch English language movies without dubbing though, so I'll wait for the English version with English subtitles.

I do hope we can get it soon here in the states. Dubbing Keanu's voice seems a crime against nature to me.
I am assuming you saw Henry's Crime with your home girl Vera Farmiga?

I agree about dubbing. Original voice, intonations, all the feelings they try to convey, get lost :( And often the dubbing actors are not doing a very good job and just mess it up.

Yeah, I saw Henry's Crime. I liked it, it was sweet. I didn't like that last scene in the theater though, it was a bit too forced, but otherwise it was really neat. The opening scene was painful, in a good sense - it kind of got to me.

Farmiga is an interesting one. I don't remember her that well in Up in the Air but I loved her in The Departed and I'm looking forward to see her (and Mark Strong whom I love) in Closer to the Moon. I'm curious if these two will be able to carry a movie on their own, instead of being their usual brilliant selves in supporting roles.

Haha, I should just make a signature that would read "sorry for off-topic" :)))

off topic for sure but try to see some of Vera's indie stuff. very edgy.

IMHO Keanu's movies are just perfect the way they are. Mainly because he made the choice to be in them and more involved, even in editing and writing, as of late. Any moment Keanu is onscreen is golden and if we don't see it oh well, our loss. We can only try to understand his telling of a tale.
I watched him watching the ending of HC and he had the most beautific smile on his face.

What? How? I'd be delighted to see it too.

I just realized that John Wall doesn't use any drugs in this movie or even smoke a cigarette. Just like in HC. An observation, nothing more.

Anakin, yeah, the more or less recent thing, with Gyllenhaal and Farmiga, and this other girl... The one that was Constantin's lover before the edit room. I think that's the one.

Yeah, why?

MOOOON!!! Oh god, I LOVED IT! Oh, I came out of the movie theater with a huge grin on my face :)

The same guy? David Bowie's son? Hmmm... This is interesting, I'll need to keep an eye on him.

DVD arrived in the mail today. The English subtitles aren't 100% accurate, but they did help me understand some of the lines.

ARYA- no bonus material on that DVD, sorry. just the movie itself.

Yeah Arya, I believe K still has to learn that fans really enjoy the extra's that come on a DVD and that the extra's are an incentive to go out an buy a DVD instead of watching it pirated. I hope he is a quick study.

re. extras - isn't that the distributor's decision? whether they want to buy such material and include it on the DVD? I doubt it has much to do with the producers.

of course, I can be wrong.

I don't think he was one of the producers for Generation Um, was he?

Company Films was one of the two producing companies.
Same as with HC. 'Keanu Reeves' is not listed as producer on either of the two films.
