It is possible that 47 Ronin will get a 'better' unrated version on disc in the future, but until then I advise everyone to avoid this. These days with '300 Rise of An Empire' there is a epic wíth balls in the halls !

Honestly, I too missed the "blood" in the last scene. From a pure esthetic point of view it would have been marvelous to see the clean and pure white kimono's turn a beautiful dark red, more poetic. It didn't have to turn into a "Kill Bill"-scene ;-) But you know, it was kind of the point when wearing white clothing, no? It was the thing that you were waiting for. (Not that it is ever nice to see KC die in a movie, but if he must then it better be spectacular: better to go out with a bang then with a little "poof", no?)

But I still think it was a beautiful movie. I quite liked the whole Japanese vibe. KC fitted right in!
All just my opinion of course.

I was glad there wasn't blood. I don't think it was needed for impact. Just my opinion. A beautiful and profound film. I love it.

I remember there was a tv show on Belgian television when I was just a little girl and it was about a Japanese (I think?) woman, just a soap about everyday life. I was so fascinated by that. My grandmother used to watch it every day.

It had the same "atmosphere" as 47 Ronin (but less beautiful), you know the restrained passion that is not allowed to come out except in an honorable fight or act? You feel the same thing when watching 47 Ronin. If you let yourself get carried away by the story you can almost "taste" it! I think that is why I like it so much.

I admit it's an acquired taste. But I just think a review like that is disrespectful to all parties involved. (yes: it means that I got upset about it!)
