Maybe I'm mistaken, but Keanu's response to a hugely excited interviewer asking about Dr Strange sounded as polite as could be but not very interested - but of course the internets have taken this gentle demurral as "OMG! he's gonna do it!!!"

I "love" the entertainment media - not saying "absolutely not" means "I'm definitely going to do it!"
This raises kind of a cultural question for me about "maybe means yes" and "not emphatically no means yes" that I find disturbing on a larger level.

Part of my reaction is that I don't know it either, and while a brilliant TV series sounds great (John Rain), a cartoon character does not interest me. Right now, I'm betting that it does not happen with Keanu. We'll see, I guess.

There's nothing that can be said in response to that should be written amongst genteel persons as are here.
