https://www.quora.com/What-is-Keanu-Reeves-s-most-iconic-role

Kynan Eng, not an actor
Answered Feb 26

Keanu Reeves has had multiple iconic roles, where “iconic” is defined as having a long-lasting impact on popular culture. So far he has had:

Theodore Logan in Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure, which was successful enough to be followed up by a Bogus Journey and now a third film. He played a good-natured high school rock band loser.
Johnny Utah in Point Break. He shared the credits with Patrick Swayze on this one. Reeves was in the role of an FBI agent investigating armed robbery.
Neo in the Matrix trilogy. He played a hacker in a real/virtual conflict.
John Wick in the trilogy of the same name. He played an assassin who exacts revenge on the killers of his dog.

That is quite a record - three movie franchises, plus another that was remade later on (Point Break, in a much weaker version). It is an impressive hit rate for an actor who is often assumed to have roughly the same character as his role in the Bill and Ted movies.

What is even more remarkable is that his iconic characters have been quite different to each other. While actors such as Tom Hanks and Leonardo di Caprio are seen as “serious”, Keanu can also be said to have performed a wide range of characters. He has done his share of romantic roles too.

How good an actor is Keanu Reeves?

Mike DiGirolamo, I'm an actor. 15 years experience. MFA in Acting.
Answered Fri

Good enough that he transitioned from a teen star to an adult middle aged male starring in action films.
That doesn’t happen by accident.
Keanu has gotten a bad rap for his “chops,” and it always surprises me to hear that.
I have an inkling that the criticism he receives comes from a side of the aisle that has yet to take an acting lesson. A lot of the criticism I hear has to do with him “lacking emotion.”
Which is funny. Because the whole point of acting isn’t to manufacture emotion. It’s to play a role.
In this regard, Keanu nails the basics.
1. He uses himself.
2. His “self” is consistent with the character in the script. He understands the basic psychology of the character he’s playing. He does take major stretches in some roles that surprise you.
3. He plays the action of the scene. He does what the character is doing in the script. What the character does is what Keanu does.
He is a good actor. I would go so far as to say, he actually skirts the edge of great in several of his roles.
I Love You to Death (1990) He was so good in this movie that I forgot he was in it.
My Own Private Idaho (1991) An extremely mature performance from an actor who was often pegged in “immature” roles. Reeves proved us wrong here, and he did so with one of the greatest young actors of his generation: River Phoenix.
The Gift (2000) I highly doubt very many people have seen this film. It has a multitude of fabulous performances in it, and Reeves turns one of those in. I almost forgot he was in this, much like ‘I Love You to Death.’

https://nerdist.com/article/keanu-reeves-film-festival-keanucon/

Keanu Reeves is getting his very own film festival. It will celebrate four decades of his big screen career, including two of his most iconic roles, John Wick and Ted "Theodore" Logan III.
We don't know what the greatest word in the English language was before, but we know what it is now: "KeanuCon." Late in April, fans of the action star will come together to honor his long career, thanks to a first-of-its-kind film festival dedicated entirely to a man who made the word "whoa" iconic.
The event is being put together by Matchbox Cineclub, "an independent exhibitor for cineoutcasts, orphans and outliers," at the Centre for Contemporary Art in Glasgow, Scotland (which we learned about at Little White Lies) for two days, on the weekend of April 27 and 28.

Keanu Reeves Plays With Puppies While Answering Fan Questions
Published on May 17, 2019

Do you think John Wick and Ted Logan would get along?
Why not? Yeah, that would be an interesting conversation. Maybe they could talk about music.

[...]

If you had to live in any of the films you’ve been in, which one would you choose?
… can I visit a bunch of them? I don’t want to just be in one era – it’s like picking a puppy but I mean I guess, you know, eventually you’ve got to choose…well no you could take them all, I don’t know…

Language Help!

Title: "Keanu Reeves Talks Filming ‘John Wick 3’ Fight Scenes, Almost Changing His Name"

This is an interview of Keanu Reeves with Willie Geist(Sorry that websites like youtube are limited here and I do not know the origin of this video), I do like his sound when he was talking about what that I just cannot follow.

It is between 04:12-04:17. Not that good at English, I only catch words as follows,

"My middle name is Charles, so they were like, why don't we just call you K.C.Reeves? Ah. Awwh. My heart, (daf?) wounded, (daf?) slings, and arrows. Oh. (faduke?) I think that's an arrow."

So what is he exactly talking about? Thanks.

I think it's 'Shakespeare speak' :)
English is not my first language, but I think it goes like ' my heart doth feel wounded... doth sling and arrows.'

A native English speaker probably can tell us more :))

@LucaM Thanks so much. I think you are right. After you told me, I listen to it again several times and distinguish "doth feel" and "doth" a little better, yet only a little, liaison is so hard for me that I even thought it could be another language with somewhat dramatic tone. Haven't read Shakespeare, it sounds interesting. And what is the word which sounds like 'faduke'?

(I have to use dictionary to assist reading and writting, and use aoto-translation because the reading speed is far too slow comparing to mother language. Besides grammatical problems, I always worry about if choosing odd or even offending words from the dictionary when writting while I am not conscious of them at all. But when saying this, I realize that, even with all common words, it still could have a special attitude. Language is so subtle. After all, it is the first time for me to use English in daily talking. So, if there is anything strange, please tell me.:))

I think that 'faduke' is not a word, he imitates the sound an arrow would make :)

yes, language is very subtle... but we try our best and hope native English speakers will forgive our mistakes and correct us :)

@LucaM Thanks for replying me again and help me understanding. You are so nice! Speak of sound imitation, Keanu seems to be good at this. I came across the short video of the 16-year-old Keanu Reeves at a teddy bear convention that "he pretends a stuffed bear is mauling him and shouts 'You're not a bear!'" That is amazingly vivid. And there was also his own characteristic sound imitation when he was doing actions during the filming, recorded in documentaries. However this kind of performance seems not appear in movies, it might be quite hard to build such a specific role in a story.
