On the one hand I´m not happy to see Keanu is chased by Paparazzi, on the other hand I´m glad to see him together with his beautiful sister Kim in Rome, she is probably the most important person in his life...
I wish Keanu & Kim very much strength and luck; all the best to you!

Thank you for posting the link Freya!

paparazzi: 'What happened to the well-known actor ?! Amazing photos - In the latest photos, Keanu Reeves no longer resembles a handsome amant, who for many years lit up the hearts of all women. The current appearance of the actor is controversial and some revolting.' (google translation)

In general when people get older they don’t always look good when not groomed.
I don’t think he cares to look like a ten all the time, especially after a workout at a dingy gym.
I guess those paps were hungry for a story based on a brief street appearance.

what Niki said. wonder how good the paps would look after a judo training session, especially with the stuntpeople at 8711.

December 2018
Keanu Reeves: everyone will win

He reveals scars to us - those on the skin and those on the soul. He talks about sadness and loneliness, but also about the happiness he met on his way. Forever young Keanu Reeves, who has not been in the "Matrix" for a long time, has come to know life as little as anyone. He knows that it is worth accepting and affirming, because it mobilizes to action.

In April, the film "John Wick 3" began in Montreal. His success begins to resemble the success of the "Matrix". This is another trilogy in your achievements. Do you have the impression that your career has come full circle?

Perhaps, but not in the wrong sense. It is true that on the set of both parts of "John Wick" I worked with almost the same team as for the trilogy of the Wachowski siblings. The director of the film Chad Stahelski is my former stuntman from the first part of the "Matrix". The continuation of "John Wick" also features Laurence Fishburne. We have not worked together since the days of Neo and Morpheus. There are a lot of similarities. But here we are dealing with a racial, classic action cinema. It was good to change the face of science fiction cinema with the help of the "Matrix". But even better to relax with the entertainment film. Zero philosophy - pure fun.

"John Wick" does not seem like pure fun. You even said that you personally identify with the sadness and anger of the main character.

In fact, out of all my roles, Wick is the closest person to me. However, it seems to me that each of us has sadness in it, regret for someone close and a sense of loss. Probably this is what is behind the success of both parts - people easily identify with his motivation to fight.

In the film, the hero loses his beloved person. You too, and often, you had to accept the loss of a loved one.

John Wick falls in love with a woman. I want to start a new life. Become a different, better person. Her death causes this piercing pain and sorrow that determines his future fate. In a sense, in my case it is similar [after the girlfriend of the actor Jennifer Syme gave birth to a dead child years ago, and a year later she died in a car accident; Sister Keanu Kim has been fighting leukemia for over a decade; the closest friend of River Phoenix died as a result of a drug overdose - note. ed.]. This grief is familiar to me, but unlike my hero, I also experienced a lot of good in life. I do not want to focus on bad experiences. Today, it does not make sense anymore.

Does regret ever go away?

Not in my case. Sorrow with the passage of time changes your character, but does not go away completely. When the people you love go away, you stay alone. I still feel loneliness, but I do not want to run away from life.

Would you like to start a family yet? Have children?

Sure, but I do not know if there will be time for that. You see, wife and children are the tip of the mountain that I have to climb. And I still have very far to the goal. The loss I suffered was so unfair and absurd ... It is difficult to work.

You're 54 this year. Media are writing about your appearance. You've been looking exactly the same for years. Are your acrobatics on the set and stunt challenges coming with ease?

I try, but it's not easy [Keanu Reeves lifts his shirt, exposing his chest, and shows scars]. My body is an open book. I rarely use stunt help, which is easy to believe when looking at my scars. But each of them is a great story. In a nutshell: I have a spine in two places, numerous scars on my hands and hands, I first had a ruptured, later crushed, and then removed spleen; I broke several teeth, I went through the arm surgery, I also torn my left leg on the motorcycle ...

It looks like a new injury. An accident at work or riding a motorcycle?

[Laughs] Honestly? I have no idea how it happened. I suspect that a large amount of whiskey could have been involved.

Any gunshot wounds? Bullets lost in your body?

No bullets for now, but we'll see. That would be pretty cool. We have not finished shooting "John Wick 3" yet, so an opportunity may still come. Nobody is safe [laughs].

You started as a young admirer of Shakespeare's drama, and today you are one of the greatest stars in the action movie. Do you have a sense of satisfaction?

Yes definitely. I feel very lucky. Professionally, fortune has always favored me. At 20, I got in a car and went to Hollywood with Toronto. I have achieved a lot more than I could have ever imagined. My head does not fit in, how it happened. Now the question is: How can you not destroy it?

Do you regret that some of your films were made at all?

Of course, but I will not point them out [laughter]. Anyway, I know which productions in my career are worse. However, I have always respected the people with whom I worked. Even with those bad movies that I am ashamed of, I have never regretted working with people on the set. They've always been great professionals. From electricians, through actors, to the director. For me, the most important thing was diversity - from independent films to Hollywood cinema. Perhaps the greatest achievement is freedom of choice. I was part of low-budget projects with a significant message, I took part in numerous documents and earned millions in trilogs. Money has never meant to me. I resigned from the fee to be able to perform, for example, alongside Al Pacin. But I was never afraid that nobody would invite me to the set. I did and I still do what I want and when I want.

Your favorite films to which you have a fondness?

Certainly "Little Buddha" by Bernard Bertolucci (1993) is one of my greatest professional achievements. I should also mention "Point Break" by Kathryn Bigelow (1991), who was my first action movie in my career. I was 27 years old. Following this lead, I have to mention the productions that have changed my life. "River's Edge" from 1986, but above all "Bill and Ted's excellent adventure" (1989) began my career. Probably the best time I spent working on the production of "Constantine" (2005). It was great fun. In turn "My Own Private Idaho" (1991) changed not only the course of my acting career, but also myself. These are the most important films in which I played.

From the perspective of a fan, I would add to this list the "Feeling Minnesota" (1996).

Oh yes. During the production of this film, I started to smoke and I can not quit today. Ah, and divine Cameron Diaz ... I'm crazy about her. I always regretted that nothing had happened between us. Can you imagine what lovely children we would have [laughter]?

And what about Carrie-Anne Moss, your film love in the Matrix trilogy? Chemistry was between you?

Absolutely not. I do not know why. However, it was mutual. Zero infatuation.

You still keep in touch or even make friends with people from the "Matrix" team.

Mostly with Laurence Fishburne. I have been on Lilly and Lana Wachowski several times over the past few years, but we do not maintain constant contact. Same with Carrie-Anne Moss, as I mentioned. We've been together for so long, for so many years and so close during the trilogy, that maybe we've had enough. But Laurence and I are still friends.

I am interested in your opinion when it comes to the changes that have taken place in the lives of the "Matrix" directors. After the trilogy's success, both brothers Wachowski changed their sex by becoming sisters.

No one talked about it on the "Matrix" set. As a team, we had no idea that the siblings have identity problems or what they plan to do in the future. The actors were not aware. At least I was not. But I have no problem with it. They are great artists and nothing should stop them from expressing themselves and who they are. I have never met people with such revolutionary visions. As it turns out now - both on the screen and in private life. Bravo for them! Everyone should be themselves and derive joy from it.

Are not you afraid that modern America may not share your point of view? After the election of Donald Trump to the US presidency, the political and social situation in the country resembles the more cinematic reality of the "Matrix".

When you asked this question, the first thing that occurred to me is the last scene in "The Matrix. Revolutions. " Architect's meeting with the Oracle. The architect asks the question: "How long will the room last?" And the Oracle answers: "As long as possible."

Do you believe that everything will be fine and we will not face matrix revolutions?

It is absolutely wonderful that in the world of so many cultures people are fighting for their rights and they can be who they want. Being yourself without fear and violence - it's building. I believe that it will be possible with Trump as the president of the USA. Earth is a wonderful planet, which certainly does not threaten one man.

You sound extremely positive for a person who is accompanied by deep sadness.

Accepting oneself as it is and celebrating it is a great feature of the modern world. This is one of the priorities of our culture, which mobilizes people to act and fight for their rights. Whoever threatens this state of affairs will not win, because everyone has the instinct to survive and fight for themselves. Everyone will win. Just like the Wachowski and the rest of the world. We do not go back. We are now mobilizing and it will be a peaceful transition - as long as it is possible. I think that in spite of all the media fear, the world is safe.

Where in that case do you see yourself in five years?

On the motorcycle going to the movie set of Martin Scorsese. It is too wild a fantasy to make it happen. Rather, it will not be given to me anymore.

Are you saying farewell ?!

I absolutely do not have that intention, but I also know that I'm no longer in the type of Martin Scorsese [laughs].

Do you see children and your family around you?

Probably not. I only see the motor.
